[DEAD now $100] HOT! BWI to Boston - $68 roundtrip - Airtran

I just booked a flight departing from BWI on 3/22 to Boston for $34 each way. I'm not sure of prices to/from other cities, but this price is better then anything I could find on Expedia, Travelocity, Orbitz, etc.

I booked 2 roundtrip tickets and it ended up being $173.00 after taxes, fees, etc. So $86.50 per person, roundtrip, after taxes and fees is very hot in my opinion.

Anybody have any experience with AirTran? This is my first time flying with them

Too bad they don't offer the reverse as well. I wanted to go from Boston to BWI but it's $60 each way. Not bad, but not great. No idea if AirTran is any good though, sorry.

If anyone is interested, I ended up finding some reviews on AirTran Airways... sounds pretty good. Apparently, most, if not all their planes are new Boeing 717 jets....

Not sure when it ends. I was looking yesterday on the site for an end date and all I could find was on the Sale Fare page it said Sale Fares end 2/12... so that's why I hurried up and bought it yesterday, I went to the site today and the deal is still going. I believe the "Sale Fares" and the "Web Special" fares (which this is) are different.

isnt airtran formerly known as valujet - of screaming hurtling to the ground at 600 mph because the dont maintain their wiring fame?

and even valujet didnt know 100mh/tape wont work at 500!
I could have sworn that the stuffs good for anything

I wish we had Ryanair in the States. I flew Pisa-Brussels return for 22 Euros, can't even get a cab ride to downtown and a drink for that much over here.

I just flew airtran from New Orleans to Atlanta to Boston. I was a little nervous because it used to be valuejet, but to be honest, it was probably the best flights I've ever been on. We were on the brand new 717's (really nice) though, and I think I would still be worried traveling on one of their old DC-9's... I'd check to see what the Logan to BWI is...betcha it's a DC-9...

airtran is very good for a small airline, in fact i fly them all the time b/w boston and bwi when i go home from school and whatnot. They are nice and cheap and very good about changing tickets around if you need to.

Looks like this deal is now dead as prices are now up to $49 each way from BWI to Boston. Still a pretty good deal though.

As far as whether the flight from BWI to Boston is on an old DC-9 or a new Boeing 717... I called their customer sevice line (1-800-AirTran) and was going to ask whether the flight from BWI to Boston was a DC-9 or Boeing 717, but before I could even get the word Boston out, she cut me off and said their computers were down and she couldn't check on any flight information. I told her all I wanted to know was what plane would be flying from Baltimore to Boston, she told me she "didn't know, but most of our planes are Boeing 717's." Not the great customer service I was hoping for, but at $34 a ticket, I guess I can't complain too much.
