Looks like they are running a $125 IR and a $100 MIR! Taking the price to $299 for the base model. Obviously you can upgrade parts at will. This is a pretty sweet deal on a machine that can be upgraded to a very nice desktop gaming machine!

They've changed the IR to be only $25. Must have gotten the Anandtech affect more than they hoped for. Hope you guys got in on it while it was hot. Sorry for those who didn't.

This was $25 cheaper yesterday but is still a good deal. These have been much, much cheaper in the past and hopefully will be again.

See the 400SC FAQ for more information.

I think some 15% SB coupons went out...that would make this ~ 240 after rebates plus tax

Does anyone know if the Dell 10% Total SB Order coupon floating around also has the exclusion of the 400SC. They are only $5 on eBay but I don't have access to the fine print...

If it drops to $275 AR in the next couple days and you CAN use the 10% off that would bring it to around $238 which is pretty good.

YES you can use that 10% on the 400SC BUT it negates the instant $100 discount, only giving you $49.95 off the price, i just tried it!!!!!
save your money!!!

Just looked and noticed the 256 megs of ram for the 128 price on this deal. That's a nice add in for no bucks.
I'm in the market for one of these, just waiting for the perfect time......

Free Double Memory OR Mail-In Rebate...

So the "free" 128MB memory costs you $100 in rebate. Not worth it. That's pretty much how Dell always does it.

Looks like it's down to $275 when I try today, they've upped it to a $125 IR. As I haven't purchased through the Dell SB site before, what do people usually put down for their business?

The shipping address will include the business name, and the rebate will only be paid to the business name. The thing you want to do is enter your name as the business name.

Hmm. For $275 this seems like a fair deal. However I would definantly have to upgrade the ram.
I see no mention anywhere of the video card... Although in the FAQ it does say it has an AGP slot.
So I assume that means it comes with on-board video?

I am debating picking one of these up for a friend of mine who doesn't really need anything fancy.

Does anyone here actually own one of these? Any opinions on it?

I have one.

It comes with a PCI ATI Rage XL card, but does have an AGP slot. It's a nice machine - well-constructed case, good interior design, and quiet.

Went ahead and got one. Went with the 50 buck upgrade from the Celeron. Will make for a nice colo web server after I add some more hard drives and RAM.

I ordered this yesterday and it is a great deal, Dell also offers Microsoft's SBS 2003 for $399.00, $100.00 off normal price and at least 200.00 off Microsoft's price.

I got one on the last deal around and I love it. I got 1 GB of ecc ram from crucial and opted for the 2.8 ghz processor. I'm using it as a game server right now. Works awesome. The video card is an ATI Rage XL 8mb PCI card that pretty much sucks. Since it has that agp you can put anything into it. Also this motherboard has SATA onboard so its good for those new hard drives in the near future.
