Damn. Thanks for the heads-up Jocelyn. Makes me feel better to have paid $240 after rebate for the M3 256GB six months ago. At this rate, I might soon own another one.

I mean no offense, but go look at the last few pages and you will see that is how everyone does it. AR or After rebate and I could be wrong, but I think everyone is smart enough to know $139.99 shipped AR = $139.99 + AR (up front) or else everyone wouldn't be posting threads exactly like I did. "Shipped" added to a title like mine, implies it's free shipping.


Edit: I just looked at the last two pages and most of them didn't even put how much the rebate was for in the title or OP. The way I posted it is just how it's done.

if you felt singled out its because your deal was the one that caught my eye (which doesn't happen often), anyone else who states the "After Rebate" price as if that's the price it takes to get it shipped to you, well, they are just as guilty (granted, none of those examples make the same mistake you do with using "shipped")

The big difference, and why it can be such a problem, is that someone might have $150 and while it would be enough if it was an instant rebate, they simply could not afford the $189 price to get the product shipped to them so that they could then mail in the rebate to get the "final" price below their budget

sure, I was able to figure it out your mistake pretty quick, but it shouldn't be a problem to figure out in the first place.

the only reason to put "shipped" in a title is to infer that is the price it takes to get it to ship to you, otherwise put "free shipping"

of course this deal did have some instant rebates going for it, so something like "$189 shipped, $139 AR" would be the shortest and most informative/least confusing title.

I got my drive today, love it, I especially like the cloning software, worked way better then the customized Acronis version other people use. Question is, I'm looking at the box, it has two bar codes on the bottom of the box, and then the barcode on the top with the serial number, manufacture date, firmware shipped with etc...Which one is for the rebate? I noticed the rebate link showed the barcode listed on the bottom on the right, but when i scanned both of them with my phone the one of the left brought up the drive, the one on the right wasn't found... I need to know for sure which UPC i need to send in, is there a customer service number for the rebate company? Thanks for any help!

I love my drive too. Though my Plextor M3S rebate initially got rejected for not submitting the correct UPC. You need to send the UPC in the middle of the box, not on the edge.

While I don't think it was necessary, I sent in all three and received my rebate checks. This was before they were sending out cards.

OK, and to clarify you mean middle of the box as in the bottom box flap that has the two UPCs on it correct? This particular one is 844149060842 right? That appears right because on Plextor's website it shows that that same barcode on the rebate offer for PLX-10018, my only concern is that on my barcode scanner on my phone that barcode brings up nothing, where as the one on the left brings up the SSD drive... So you are 100 percent sure right? I don't want to risk losing a $50 AMEX card! Thanks

If you're that worried, make a backup photocopy of each and send in all of them. Problem solved.

To clarify I confirmed the UPC in the middle bottom flap is correct, now i just wait for the $50 and spend it on gas or bills! I must say after trying a few different drives I'm finally happy with this one, and at $140AR, awesome! Hope the rebate comes fast but even at $189.99 I consider it a good price because normally I've seen this bad boy for $240+ so you do the math.
