Sounds to me like there's no compelling reason to buy Version 6 if you don't have a DVD burner and already have 5.5. If it ain't broke...

I have a problem with Nero 6. After burning a disc of files I like to write verify. This worked fine under 5.5, but under 6 I get an error message that the files can't be accessed. The CD tray opens and closes in between the write and verify, and I don't have it set for multisession.

Nero is a great product, but like the earlier poster said i don't see any compelling reason to go to 6 from 5.5 unless you are burning DVDs (which I am not). The Wizard (now called Nero Express) is much better in 6, but I don't use that.

Does anyone know if INCD (the CD-as-floppy program) program that comes with Nero 6 finally supports CD-R and DVD+R in addition to CD-RW and DVD+RW? That's what always killed Nero for me in the past. DirectCD (Roxio's program) let me collect data files on a cheap CD-R instead of a more expensive and less reliable CD-RW.

No, InCD 4 does not support it. I recommend sticking with InCD 3 if it supports your drive. InCD is full of bugs still.

That is for Nero Recode 6, which is not part of Nero 6. Its like DVDXCopy and lets you copy dvd movies. Its still beta so work needs to be done.

All the packet writing software is full of bugs. Roxios new Drag to Disc also has tons of bugs. Huh, one day, we will have Mt Rainier support, the floppy can finally RIP...

I saw on the Nero site that you can upgrade to 6.0 from the 5.5 OEM for $49.99. Anyone have any experience with this? Is it a good deal? Does it work?

Thanks!
