LOL @ this thread guys. Sorry, how could I (or anyone else) have known. Glad I cancelled a long time ago! :p

There's the guy that started this! LETS GET HIM!!!!

Nah...nah...nah....boo...booo! :p

J/K. Dell just sucks on this type of thing. I had issues with an order last year in which they charged me 4 X the stated amount. The simply changed the price and shipped the items to me without asking me a damn thing. After fighting them for a day or two, I finally dug up the e-mail and e-mailed it to the phone CSR. He took care of it and actually GAVE me the order FREE, but still was wrong to begin with.

Just got a shipping notice in email this morning. Now what am I going to do with two of them?

EDIT: Email timestamp 12:07AM. Items actually shipped yesterday and are out for delivery today! Using DHL, which means I have to be around to sign, which is bad because I had errands to run, but good because $440 worth of GPUs isn't sitting outside in a box marked DELL.

I will be getting a card!

But it took time, and it probably wasn't worth it. Especially since I got an ATI 3870 for $190 from best buy.

I filed a complaint wit the BBB, and that worked.

1. I ordered day 1, Nov 24th (haven't heard of orders earlier)
2. My order was never canceled, till I finally called Jan 11th.
3. All they could offer me was a "$30" credit off the evga, which brought it down to the price of the MSI MSRP of $259. I told her it needed to match the price, she said she could not do that because it wasn't the same part #. I was transfered no less than 7x, and they tried to give me the "never ending loop" since no one could adjust prices.
4. Eventually THEY canceled my order, not really with my permission, but while I was on the phone. This came to no surprise from what I had read here, fw, and at hocp.

I got a phone call today, from dell, because I filed with the BBB. The first thing I had to explain to her was that multiple manufacturers made the SAME card, with a different sticker on the front, and that dell had 4 other manufacturers of this card. Second, she wanted to give me $60 credit off another card. Which I proceeded to tell them, was a waste of my time, that their system was the problem since they couldn't give credits more than $30, and then now miraculously more at $60. The fact that I wanted the SAME price was a hard concept for Dell to grasp. I said its $23 more, ($289.00-$207.99). She agreed, but I have to place my order first. She stated this "wasn't normal". Frankly I don't care, but it is what is right. (HONOR A PRICE ON YOUR WEBSITE!!! ZOMG!!!!)

I am now awaiting the customer service reps information via email and then I will place my order.

Got my two cards. Was shipped from TX yesterday and arrived at my place in WI today using DHL.

I was wrong about one thing though. This DHL driver didn't get my signature - or even ring the doorbell. I was home and heard something bang against the door. Dude had just tossed the box against my door and was getting ready to drive away. No signature, no doorbell, no knock. Maybe he's training to be one of the UPS ninja delivery drivers? They're usually so quick that no matter how fast I run downstairs, I may not even see the truck anymore.

Oh yeah, now they start shipping after they cancelled most of the orders on their own without our permission.

That's BS about them forcing xDanielx to make a new order. They should be able to reinstate the original order or open a new order themselves. Sounds like Dell is still trying to make it hard for anyone to get the original deal. I guess I'll have to file a complaint with BBB and maybe others. It pisses me off when Dell does this kind of crap to long time customers like myself. Guess I'll stop recommending Dell PCs to my clients. I'm in a bad mood tonight. :Disgust; < the disgust emoticon doesn't work!

/rant off
/going to get my blood pressure medicine...

Are you giving the OP one for a late Christmas gift? ;)

Wow. So some folks are actually getting the cards! I figured that they'd either send out more delay notices or just start canceling the orders.

I received my MSI 8800 gt from Dell on 1/24 exactly 2 months after my 11/24 order. They gave me free overnight shipping and an additional $40 off the card. Making my total $167. I'm glad I was patient.

Thanks for letting us know. Let us know how it runs. Did you call them to get the $40 off? This blows for those of us who had their orders cancelled by Dell without our consent. Time to start the letter writing... :frown:

I got lucky. They would have canceled my order if I had missed one of the 5 e-mails notifying me of the delays. I responded to every email and called 3 times. The first time I called they gave me free overnight shipping, the second call they promised $40 off after I received my card. I thought it would be an empty promise because I did not think I would ever get the card. The final call was to get the $40 back. The CSR put the $40 back on my Credit card and gave me the confirmation number.

Important Things to Know:

* We must receive your consent to continue with this order with the revised estimated ship date above. If we do not receive your consent and your order has not already shipped, the FTC requires that we automatically cancel your order and issue a refund of any amount paid.

Can't believe they actually shipped some of these. What maybe 10 out of 5000 ordered?

And that If you don't reply we will cancel is crap because the 1st time I emailed and called and it was delayed . The 2nd time I emailed and called and they canceled it anyway.

I was gonna wait it out but I had my order cancelled too.

If you go to Resellerratings, Dell's rating has plunged recently. There's quite a few negative ratings based on this fiasco (including mine).

I was in this fiasco also, ordered on 11/27 and it never came, got email saying delayed till 12/11 than 12/29. Good thing I cancelled. I just ended up going to ebay and getting a evga 8800gt for $250, at least I got it before the new years.

I had my order cancelled though I responded dutyfully to the extension emails. After calling around, I actually was accidentally referred to an internal sales support Rep who gave me the SKU for a replacement item of similar performance xFx card (?) I was referred to another rep who was supposed to re-instate my order, which basically meant start a new order. I decided to punt since

a) the release of funds for my original had not been processed in my Paypal account. Dell scheduled the order to expire on February 22nd and told me that they would take at least 10 days to cancel the hold on my funds. the order shows up as pending in your paypal statement.

b) there are other cards out there for similar pricing with less BS (Microcenter has one for about what I would have paid Dell).

c) I may be facing a layoff, so i figured I'd hunker down until my job situation stabilizes or the 3750 X2s push down competitive product pricing enough to get one of these for less than $200.

PM me and I can provide the SKU information, but if your order was cancelled for no reason, can can call to reinstate it with a duplicate product. The MSI cards don't show up in the catalog, though.
