it's great, except a few minor gripes:

H key has a dead zone on the left edge. I have to press it pretty hard to register.

wrist lift came pre-installed and is kinda hard to remove. (any advice?)

lctrl is kinda sunken in. i tend to use it a lot in gaming.

The manual has some instructions on removing the lift at the front.

I agree about the left control, I use my keyboard for gaming and the previous natural keyboard was really good in terms of gaming. This one, the left control makes it hard. Oh well I'm thinking about getting one of those Nostromo things anyway, that should make the gaming better.

You guys should do yourselves a favor and reassign the CapsLock key as the left Ctrl key.

$30 AR is better than $40 AR though :)

Its silly MS and thier newsgroups, the links go wonky sometimes (I couldn't find the thread I was linking originally either, maybe they deleted it?). Anyway, I copy/pasted what should be applicable to the OP. So now if they delete that stuff there will be a copy here :)

Another option I've thought of is taping a little piece of thing foam to it so the top is a little higher.

I've read a lot of reviews and didn't see any of them mention anything about that. Its some sorta leatherette or naugahide stuff, so that should be fairly durable and it feels like it would clean decently if you didn't go crazy on it.
Plus its black. A lot of stuff wont show :)

Thanks for the info on the deal OP :) I just picked up one of these to replace my ageing MS Natural Pro keyboard and so far its been a good change except for the USB only thing, sadly it won't work w/ my PS/2 only KVM but otherwise I've been favoribly impressed w/ the new Ergo 4000 it seems the closest MS has released to the orginal Natural pro which was almost perfect.

dang, where was this rebate 2 weeks ago when i bought it from newegg? :(

either way, i really like this keyboard.

the only thing i don't like about split keyboards is that in some games, the "H" button is something i like to use with my left hand but since there's a split in the middle, i can't reach it anymore!!! lol.

great keyboard though.
