I ordered mine on Monday, got it on Friday. The promo stuff stayed in the box but it came with a nice zippered nylon case. Put it to immediate use, used Visio to reverse engineer an SQL Server database and give me a good datamodel in about 5 minutes.

Just got my MSAP in yesterday. I activated XP Professional, and Office XP no problem. Publisher XP had a hiccup, and said the code was not valid, called them up and they activated it over the phone. Great deal at $299, cayenne FLAMING HOT at $99. Don't see how they can do it for this money.... Thanks for the tip!😀

I get a incorrect page address error after filling out the shipping and billing addresses under order fulfillment...anyone else get this?

-Dave.

I would be patient. I could be that with the $100 price they ran through the authorized number of units initially made available for this offer. Once they catch up with all the requests they may authorize another number of units but with a new "coupon" code.

OK, since the code did not work for me either, I called and got the skinny on what's going on. The CSR told me that the MAPS3 code is working, but that they are not doing automatic changes in price on the website. They are maintaining a database of people that they have given the code to, and are going through and verifying by hand that you are in the database when they receive the order with the promotion code. This means that they will charge your credit card $299, but then go back and refund $200 "within 10 business days." The CSR told me that, in fact, sometimes they are able to verify your promotion status before your card is even charged in the first place. I don't know how true this is, but we will see. I went ahead and placed my order.

Now, I assume that this means you must call Microsoft first and get on the list in order for this to still work. This is no problem though, simply call 877-283-1925 and tell them that your promotion code is not working and that you'd like to still get in on the $99 deal. Hope this helps everyone.

adsouthpaw summed it up pretty well. I was given the same info when I called this morning. I went ahead and ordered the subscription. I'll let you know when I get my $200 "refund."

I just received mine today which leaves me with an important question.

Since I only have 2 computers, which means I only have one to play with the OSs and other software on, I will need to install, uninstall and install again to try out all this stuff.

Which of these products require an authorization? I know Windows XP Professional does, but what about the Small Business Server and the other servers?

The authorizations limit the number of installations I can do, which I'd like to save for when I actually put a server to work in a test environment.
Of course, if the authorization isn't required for 30 or 60 days that should be long enough for my first dabbles.

Heh heh.. I've never even heard of most of this stuff.

according to what a repy told me the other day when i had to call in for a question about my account, he said everything except Mappoint needs activation.

Do you know the grace period? IOW, is it 30 days like Win XP?

Edit: I did a search of "60 days" on the raw text thread and apparently this has been addressed already.
It's of some opinion that we're on the honor system, that we as developers are expected to reinstall things. I will believe it when I see it.

Yet another edit: On reflection of my last edit I must say like I have read here before, "...it sure sucks to be so skeptical."

That I do not know. I won't be installing them for another month or so. As of now, my cd set will be sitting in the box till i have a chance to wipe the systems clean and try the CDs.

Edit: Well since I am a sytem builder, and reseller. I am always testing out hardware and software til the point when my own personal system(s) do crash hard.. so ill be reinstealling very often.

Smoking Hot Deal. I purchased it last year, used a code to get 100 off , it was a good deal at $199.

Smoking? Heck this deal is on fire. Makes me think of that song in the movie Scarface and the PSX2 game, Grand Theft Auto 3, She's on Fire 🙂
