My dog lay dead five days without a grave
In the thick of summer, hid in a clump of pine
And a jungle of grass and honey-suckle vine.
I who had loved him while he kept alive

Went only close enough to where he was
To sniff the heavy honeysuckle-smell
Twined with another odor heavier still
And hear the flies' intolerable buzz.

Well, I was ten and very much afraid.
In my kind world the dead were out of range
And I could not forgive the sad or strange
In beast or man. My father took the spade

And buried him. Last night I saw the grass
Slowly divide (it was the same scene
But now it glowed a fierce and mortal green)
And saw the dog emerging. I confess

I felt afraid again, but still he came
In the carnal sun, clothed in a hymn of flies,
And death was breeding in his lively eyes.
I started in to cry and call his name,

Asking forgiveness of his tongueless head.
..I dreamt the past was never past redeeming:
But whether this was false or honest dreaming
I beg death's pardon now. And mourn the dead.

😕 ....

Funny thing is this was on the evening news.

Either is attention whores or viral marketing. Agree with the dog guess considering they have very large sinus and cartilege (which is what the "beak" is). First thing I thought of was cloverfield 2 but I see that is already mentioned.

Did you guys see the more recent pics? Everything is in proportion, it doesn't look huge, and has a good resemblance to a dog.

LOL @ the close minded.

Someone brings up something that's not of the norm and they are bombarded with "tinfoil hat" replies and are asked for more proof. Well here's a damn good photo that even fox news made a story of. Regardless, we still have the "photoshopped" comments. This isn't the first time we have discovered a new species. Anyone remember all those new species that were found inside a cave not too long ago? Yeah, this thing could be a dog, but god damn people open your mind a little bit before jumping to conclusions.

I'll open my mind a soon as you answer what is more plausibe/likely:

1) somebody found a new species but has not released samples for DNA testing for confirmation of this great discovery and bask in the glory of it.
2) everything else.

Occam's razor is a bitch.

IT IS A ROTTWEILER! ARE YOU PEOPLE BLIND?!?!?!
NOBODY LIKES YOU!!!!
I'm so sad, but that doesn't make anyone in here less stupid (and blind).
That's not a rott
Agreed, kinda looks like a dachshund, proportionally (larger front paws, narrowing then widening towards the rear, long nose). My dachsie actually sleeps in that position all the time. Well, minus the dead, hairless, and faceless part. She gives the FU paw on occasion as well.

I think y'all are scared to admit what it really is

MANBEARPIG!

I thought it would be more scary looking, or look more like a man, a bear or a pig, but it's clear this is Manbearpig. I can't wait for Al Gore to release a press statement confirming this.

Fox News does not quite constitute legitimacy.

Nor does any of the other news networks

Jesus Christ, it's a dog.

with a beak!

:facepalm;

EDIT: closeup

Excellent higher-res pic. It's pretty clear that's just bone, not a beak. The rest of the nose (being just cartilage) is gone.

Interesting though, that the skin hasn't been broken yet.

Salt water will do that.
