they are $59.99 at BestBuy after two rebates as of TONIGHT so i think AT LEAST ONE of the two $20 rebates should be fine along with the $30 from Staples. one is a BestBuy rebate for $20 and the other is a Maxtor rebate for $20 (02-50906). i this one hoping to see both $20 rebate came from Maxtor. i am just guessing, of course as, the Maxtor rebate # doesn't match any of the Staples rebate #'s. so hopefully all the stores that offer this drive will have a $20 rebate sometime this week. if so we should be able to go into Staples and get legitimate rebate forms - right?

unless Staples has dragged Maxtor into their don't honor your ad/policy bs!

Would like to say that I got the HDD today. Finally. I got the Maxtor 60 GB 7200 RPM HDD that is Ultra ATA 133, and also with Fluid Dynamic Bearing Motor. I believe these are the newer editions of the 60 GB 7200 RPM HDD? Now to take care of the rebates and send them out tomorrow.

I got two emails from RebatesHQ.com today. One said that the $20 rebate I mailed in with the photocopied UPC was invalid and the one I mailed in with the original UPC was valid. This is not a big surprise.

Anyone received the approval of the $30 rebate with copy of the UPC yet? I just dropped mine off in the mail yesterday.

I just received this via email and I send in a COPY of the upc! I used the $30 rebate form that did not mention anywhere whether or not it needed the original upc so that's why it probably went through.

The check for my $30 rebate (with copy of UPC) is finalized and already in the mail. I should be receiving a check any day now!!! Very impressive turn around by staples rebates, less than a month. :D

My $20 rebate (Maxtor manufacture rebate with original UPC) is approved but still processing (which means they what to keep your money until the last minute).

Did not sent in last $20 rebate, didn't want to piss off the rebate center.

Same here. But not for the same reason. I don't see the last $20 have any chance of getting approved.

Maybe Staples finally caught on. There is currently another deal with the 60GB Maxtor thru Staples. Both the rebates specified original UPC. Hope it's a fluke.

I just check the rebate status and of the 3 rebate i sent in, one of the $20 one was rejected because i didn't send in a original UPC. Did anyone get all 3 rebates back ?

Wow, just got the $30 check from Staples ! That's just 3 weeks !

I filed that one with a copy of the UPC and a handwritten note explaining why I did not include the original UPC. The $20 rebate is listed on the web site as being processed, so at least I know they received it. Let's hope it's pretty quick too. So as it is, I have a $40 drive; aiming for $20 :)

I didn't get the checks yet but all three of my rebates say they're good! WOO HOO! FREE 60GB for my almost free DELL 8250 2.4G!

I just got my confirmation on the $30 check today too. I also used a copy of the UPC with a note. Nothing yet on either of the $20 ones though. Neither of them show up on the web site yet.

You have to call the rebate rebate center.

I said I called them before, and they agree to accept a copy of UPC code for the third rebate.
They reactivated my rebate, I should get it in 4-6 weeks.

I got the $30 one back

Got mine free too. Orginally my two $20 rebates weren't accepted but I called a few weeks ago and got them approved. Very Nice Deal!

Just like to say that my $30 rebate was approved, but the two $20 rebates were rejected. Called in at 1-888-221-4692 and explained to them that one of the rebate was the manufacter's rebate required the original UPC while the two $20 rebates can get copies of the UPC as told by Staples when I called in about the rebates. The guy then validated the two rebates. I then checked on the web to make sure that they're validated and sure enough, status has been updated. Will be getting those checks in a month. HDD is free after rebate! Woo hoo!
