It's back up again but give it another week or 2 and it'll drop. I got my Seagate 400GB for $99 last time. Now it's $99 for 500GB 🙁.

^in two weeks? Haha no way, with these things selling out like hotcakes at 100 why would there be an incentive to drop it any time soon?

Anyways, I'm glad we're all getting 7200.10's so far 😀. It seems like that's what the majority have gotten.

Are you sure the deal's back up? It still listed as $169.99 for me.

Just a FYI, it took 2:07:57 time do a full format.
01:56:13 total time to copy 1 400GB HD to the 500GB HD with about 298GB of data.
We need faster HDs!

full format on a new drive for what? all you did was sector-check a brand new drive... if its new there is nothing needed other then a quick windows format.

It is called testing the HD out. You would be surprised to see how many HDs fail this.
For example, at old job, with a array of 100 new HDs, 10 failed the 1st full format.
