great deal! I got these from dell over the holiday season for 251 shipped with a dellf 25% off E+A coupon and some sort of $xx off $xxx purchase coupon. They seem to have lowered the base MSRP on the 5500's.
Those are exactly the set I have, and I'm going to replace them with these 5500's. This is the big price drop I've been waiting for. My Klipsch have had static and control pod issues since day one.
i bought this around christmas from amazon but I burned my control pod while putting in an optical cable (don't ask) and fried it and thanks to compusa return policy oh let's just say it's working now 😉
This rocks. I just recieved my Phillips Aurilium (USB soundcard) today. Now with this I should be able to get 5.1 sound from my laptop (digital right up to the amp no less).
What a major change it will be because up till now my sound system has been what they used to call "a stereo".
The only thing I'm concerned with (other than the wife not being informed) is the ability to listen to music. I've never been a fan of single-channel-for-the-bass systems.
