I had this keyboard. It had a lot of thought put into it, but its use in real world fell short. The display they advertise works for two games I don't think anyone plays. There has been no development of new display modules. Basically the ones you get with the keyboard are it.

The backlit effect is nice, but not really used in the heat of play. The face of four keys on mine began wearing off about two months after owning. The USB ports on the keyboard are a nice touch and useful. The cable runners underneath are worthless. The macro keypad has minimal use.

I type more than play games. I found the Microsoft Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 to be better buy. Costs less and more comfortable. Not the best gaming keyboard, but gets the job done.

I'm going to guess you never visited these two forums where there are a good number of mods available:

wow thanks capt caveman, i'm sure to bookmark that and wait for my brand new G15 to go with my G5 mouse and start fraggin 😀😀😀

I've had this keyboard for a while. I guess I'm in the minority when I say I don't like it.

The keys rubbed off already and I don't even play first person shooters very much. My "s" key is completely wiped off and the other keys have the blue light seeping through already.

It's very bulky and the software is the buggiest software ever made... ever. The LCD media program gets stuck on startup every now and then.

I guess it does look nice, but I am trying to get rid it for a dinovo or Saitek.

Yeah I decided to stick with my Saitek and pass on this for now...honestly $55 with tax for a keyboard if you think about it is quite steep...a little more than half that for my Eclipse (used)...

So you paid around $25 for your Saitek? :Q

Not much for mods at the forum or downloads. Some are just plain uninteresting.

Keep in mind that I stopped using mine a few months after it was introduced. I bought the first week it came out. I would hope somebody has developed something by the time I stopped using it. Still a so-so keyboard.

Any G15 users actually program all of the macro keys for a game and remember what key is what while playing? It's too much. Feels gimmicky.

I like my G7 mouse though. Feels great! :-D

Music files/titles while your playing games, plug in for fraps for FPS while playing games. they added ut2k4 support with the lcd. CPU/RAM usage in games, many more I cant remember etc etc etc.

not again, I got tricked into getting the saitek from crapshack last week. And I really like it less than my logitech wireless which was part of the 3100 desktop. Now if I buy this, I can as well wear the tshirt saying "I'm with stupid"

I have it and use the following mods:

  • LCD Clock - Logitech provided clock utility which I find extremely handy. No more having to jump out of a game to see the time.
  • Media Player - Shows the current song being played and works with most players (I use WMP). The volume knob displays an on-screen bar.
  • MBMG15 - Bridges Motherboard monitor to the LCD -- completely configurable. I use it to see CPU usage (for both cores) as well as CPU and GPU temps while in game.
  • FRAPS - Displays a real-time graph of FPS. One of coolest modules available imho.
  • Miranda-IM - Shows incoming messages and allows me to reply directly through the LCD (it takes control of the keyboard if you click the 'reply' button).
  • G15 NetSpeed - Real time graphs and counters displaying download and upload network traffic.
  • BF2 ServerMon - Currently in BETA and not officially supported by EA, but it shows you your score (kills and Team) as well as your class, number of grenades you have left and other server information (IP, ping, etc)
  • Civ4 - Native support displays any current status messages. The developers are planning on incorporating more features in future patches.

Guess it depends on the person, but I find mine wildly useful. I'll admit to never using the function keys -- the keyboard would be better without them. But they don't bother me too much. I still have my Saitek that I use for LANs, but the G15 has a permanent home on my desk.

I have the exact same problem with my eclipse. I do a lot of typing and use the keyboard to navigate a lot and my ctrl, alt, shift and spacebar on the left side are all rubbed off.

dead deal. mine shipped. i cant wait.
i have a dinovo for my regular rig and this will be gaming only ...

Lol a little more than half of $55 is $25? 😕

It was $30 if I recall correctly...just post your's FT in the FS forum it'll go like hot cakes...

When someone get's their G15, can you report back if it's the newer revision? You'll be able to tell by the LCD. If it has a blue backlight, it's the newer rev.

will do but it will be here on the 14th.

EDIT: it is the newer revision with blue backlight. Even called up logitech and they confirmed that I had the newer version after checking the Serial number.
