Jokes aside, this is a really good price for this case, they normally go for $230-ish. 🙂

I liked how it looked initially and then saw that the PS is on the bottom. I haven't bought into the PS on the bottom theory as of yet. I guess I'm old school. Heat rises and to me, the PS should be at the top.

the PS should be at the top.
The Mk I version allows that and comes with the extra mounting hardware to do both at once. Lian Li cases are quite modular so this might allow it as well. Keep in mind that this is a full tower case so it is tall. Putting a lot of weight at the top makes it less stable to stand if someone bumps it. Again, this is a full tower case so there is plenty of room for air flow.

Nope, no blowhole on top. A big giant fan on top is what it needs.
Let me state again: Lian Li's are VERY modular. http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=28180

If you really think it needs it, here you go. Full tower cases don't always need a multitude of fans in every nook. I had overclocked passive-cooled (giant heatsinks) two 4850s running fine at one point just with the stock panels and stock fans of the mark I (PC-A71B).

This thing holds 10 hard drives. There's never enough air flow when you have 10 super hot drives spinning in there.

Everyone is underestimating the volume of a full tower.

Does anyone in this thread even have experience with this case!? I happen to! I own and use the Mk I (previous older version [so it has to be utter shit right since they felt it needed to be revised? yeah])
I no longer have it in its prime configuration since I got tired of lugging it around to Lan parties and opted for a smaller case just for games.

At one point it had 8 (non-green) hard drives along with crossfire gaming just fine. At one point I had 10 hard drives but was fed up with having to deal with the SCSI controller. At my location it is never cold enough to even snow so it's not like I'm dealing with atypical ambient temps.

This IS a $240 case.

While Lian Li is known for good cases, dollar amount is not indicative of functionality and quality. With the front door closed and no fans on the side, it's probably safe to say that this case has negative pressure with only the back exhaust and PS fans going. I'm not a subscriber to negative pressure cooling. Equal in and equal out is what I trust.

That's true since it is subjective. But they're all aluminum and very durable. Quality can be "felt" while handling Lian Lis. They're not necessarily rip-offs, it's just that some of them are too simplistic looking for most people's tastes. I prefer computers that look like miscellaneous industrial equipment to people.

CFM is a rate (average) of volume, not rate of pressure. Pressure is force per area. Cases are not vacuum chambers so this doesn't apply. CFM does not relate to pressure in this case, and it will not directly relate to heat dissipation. Just because you can add up and cancel the averages of every fan (only based on direction) does not mean you get airflow nirvana.

I've got a re-badged Rocketfish version of this case. Its awesome! I love the build quality and space it provides.
Mine is slightly different though. Chop the top half of the lower HDD cages and move the other one at the top down to sit next to each other.

well if you look at the pics on newegg you can mount the PS on the top from what I gather, or the bottom, and it also has a huge fan on the top back and one in the middle

lian-li cases own, I would buy it but I don't need it, I used a Lian Li PC-70 for like 9 years

I am very tempted to buy this case. It is beautiful. I have a Lian Li (the V1000 IIRC, wish I got the 1200 instead) and it's amazing, but this case is even better. It would be great to use for my home server with up to 13 HD's, plus 5 5.25 that could be converted you could get 20 HD's inside this thing. Jesus that is a think of beauty.

Oh, and there are 2 140 mm fans in the front (between HD cage and front panel), along with 2 120 mm fans in back. The only possible issue is going to be due to the sizes of the openings at front, you *might* get noise from the air going through them. I doubt it though due to the low speed they are spinning.

I wouldn't be worried at all about airflow (even if I put 20 HD's in that beast).

stares at his 5 rocketfish cases and hugs them!!

I only use two of mine-one houses the server the other houses the i7 in my sig-my secondary rig...

They breathe well enough but use a blowhole mod if you gonna go crazy...

All in all a great case..

Heat doesn't rise. Hot air floats on top of cooler air. Since air is flowing through the case because of fans, it makes no difference.

Hot air from the PSU isn't going to fight the fan and rise out of the PSU
