FYI, $5.95 shipping to west coast (why?) for this little bargain; that's the basic, cheap option. Plus tax, if applicable for you.

It's $5.95 2nd day air, and it's the same price for buying 3 still. <shrug>

Sorry, it is $5.72 ground to west, not $5.95 as I stated earlier. Still too high for something that weighs so little. Otherwise a good find. Yeah, 23 cents more for 2nd day; logic in that??

OfficeMax has a 64 MB MicroAdvantage drive for the same price after $10 MIR for this week. Not sure if it's a decent drive or not.

$5.72 is too high?

What do you think it should cost?

When using UPS or Fedex, shipping to a residence, even the closest locations are about $5.00 for 1 pound. If you're in a more rural area, add another $1.25. That's just the bottom of rates.

For example, actual cost shipping from So. Cal to Seattle is $5.03. A pretty short trip. By the time you include the cost of a box, any packing material... they're not making any money on it. Not even counting labor. I think the price is quite reasonable.

What I hate are sites that tease you with a low price, then charge some ridiculous shipping charge that has no relation to actual cost. Like a $200 item on sale for $150, then when you get through checkout you find out they want $40 to ship a 2 pound item. I'd rather pay $5 more than support a deceptive site anyday.

Yeah, shipping doesn't get much cheaper than $5. It's not like you can just ship the little USB drive, there's the box, the packing, etc. I think he means, in relation to how much this costs, 6 bucks is a lot (60%). But yeah, I am hoping either Fry's has it, or the OfficeMax one is good.

The omax one is pretty good; 2nd fastest one I've bought (got tons for gifts). The Omax one gets around ~4500 read and around 3900KB write speed. Only better one I had was a Lexar 128MB.

Oh um, my Lexar 64MB one only gets like 1000KB/s read and write.
