Just hit up a computer show and you can pick up used ones for less the $5 a piece.

I have not used a floppy in 4-5 years. I boot from CDs, and transfer data using CD-RW or USB flash drive.

My local high school sells their old computers at auctions. You can get 4 P166 computers with printers and monitors for $2 http://esurplusauction.com/IANAuction/ca?ianac=view&auc=51989. Just take the floppy drives out of them.

XP install will only take 3rd party raid drivers from a floppy (press F6 blah blah). It makes it a pain to take them off the mobo driver cd and transfer to floppy etc.

If your so damn cheap you don't want to spend $12.99 you should get some free after rebate CD's and learn how to slipstream the 3rd party drivers into an XP install disc. That's of course if you aren't too cheap to own a CD writer.

You must not have had to install Win2K/XP on a SCSI or SATA hard drive before. (You need to put the appropriate driver on a floppy to install it.)

I don't even have a raid setup. I was using that as an example. Floppys are useful for many other things. You never know when you'll need one, and when you do...you'll be glad you have it.

As a senior member with 300+ posts, you should know very well that this type of I Wanna posts are not allowed in the main forum.
