topic says it all....

I'd like to pick up a few drives but the shipping is always a killer. I don't have anything else to order, or I would just add them to my newegg order or whatever.

thanks in advance.

edit: and they're a little expensive at fry's (12.99)

XP install will only take 3rd party raid drivers from a floppy (press F6 blah blah). It makes it a pain to take them off the mobo driver cd and transfer to floppy etc.

If your so damn cheap you don't want to spend $12.99 you should get some free after rebate CD's and learn how to slipstream the 3rd party drivers into an XP install disc. That's of course if you aren't too cheap to own a CD writer.

I have not used a floppy in 4-5 years. I boot from CDs, and transfer data using CD-RW or USB flash drive.

You must not have had to install Win2K/XP on a SCSI or SATA hard drive before. (You need to put the appropriate driver on a floppy to install it.)

This is the "Hot Deals" forum. If you like paying full price for everything, get the fvck out!

I don't even have a raid setup. I was using that as an example. Floppys are useful for many other things. You never know when you'll need one, and when you do...you'll be glad you have it.

goto your local comp store...
floppies are a dime a dozen.
i picked up a new one a few weeks ago from computersonics b/m for like 6 or 8 dollars

Kenrippy, I think people are upset because you're using our hot deals forum as your own personal shopping service. As a senior member with 300+ posts, you should know very well that this type of I Wanna posts are not allowed in the main forum. How would you like it if one day you come to the hot deals forum and all you see are threads like "any good deals on LCD?" , "any good deals on hard disks?", "any good deals on notebooks?" etc. I bet you would quit reading this forum very soon if that happens. Just MHO. No flames please.
