DEAD: Left 4 Dead 50% off on Steam!

Hmm I mostly play games on the 360 but how is L4D on PC? My only concern is I don't have any friends that PC game so I'd have to try to find coop partners.

Game is AWESOME on the PC, and there are a crapload of people playing it online. Feel free to add me as a friend if you pick it up, Krakn3Dfx on Steam.
 
Dangit and here I was thinking I got a great deal for $35 at a closing Circuit City.
Seriously pick this game up, its tons of fun!

how is single player ?

and does Steam charge you tax?

this might be the first game i D/L directly from Steam
[i wouldn't even consider it for the years i had 56K dialup 😛]

this is Source Engine right?

Before i start clicking on "add to cart", how big is this D/L .. i still only got a 17GB satellite D/L cap for each 30 days 🙁

Single player is decent, but eventually you're going to want to go online, since the single player bots just kind of hang on you and that can get kind of old.

No tax.

Source engine, yep.

Full download is around 5.2GB I think.
 
I find it, at least in verses, a very very fun game worth every penny. I'll be hunting, smoking and booming all you L4D virgins tonight. Tanks you.
 
Dang, I'm almost tempted to get a third copy. I have three steam accounts for lan parties and this is the only main game I don't have a third copy of... so tempted....

- either crap bandwidth and low pings or awesome bandwidth and crap pings 🙁

Is there an actual decent SP campaign with a real "ending"?
.. is it long ?

5.2 GB is doable for me this month;the thing that would *make me get it* is if there is a built-in benchmark
- but i guess i am asking for too much 😛

Actually I find the single to be quite fun. I love playing in lan parties or online with friends but when I just what a quick "blow 'em up" fix it works great. I used to do UT3 with bots to get the same fix but left 4 dead is even better.
