Dead Laptop screen

Summary says it all. Basically, a three year old compaq laptop suddenly loses the backlighting. You can still see icons and such, but there is no light behind the screen. Is it the backlight? What do you do?

yeah, ebay should have most any part you need for laptop repair. What model laptop is it because I just parted out a dead compaq presario and it had a working backlight when it went, I could hook you up with what you need if the models are the same. If not...ebay is your best bet

it's the compaq presario 900 series
