They don't say what it is, so it could be PC2700 or PC2100. If you buy it in a store you can ask they to bring you a PC2700 one.

OM never has PC2700 on sale like this, plus if the UPC doesn't match = no rebate, so make sure you get PC2100.

In the past people have reported getting PC2700 ram in boxes marked as PC2100 memory.

I bought 2 sticks of PC2700 from OM for $9.99 after rebate. It's packaged kind of weird...so you have to ask for the PC2700 because they carry PC2100 and PC2700 with the SAME SKU).

Do you know if the UPC code is the same for the PC2100 and PC2700 boxes, because the $15 MFG rebate says you have to buy item KVR-PC2100DDR/256 to get the rebate and if the UPC code you send in don't match the PC2100 UPC code the rebate might get rejected.

The OMax near me, Camillus NY, was substituting SpecTek PC2100 modules so it was $9.99 + tax out the door.

I got the SpecTek substitution, except it was 32.99 plus a rebate that "will be in later this week..." We'll see how that turns out, but as long as I get my rebate who cares? Its 256Mb for $10.

I also was given the substitute of Spetek 2100, 9.99 + tax. This was at Roseville CA. store. They called around and could not figure out how the rebate would work so I walked out happy.

I also got the SpecTek brand which says "PC2100" on the box but the actually RAM itself has a "PC7200" label on it.

I picked up 4 sticks myself. 1GB for $40 not bad ;)

Also, when I went to pick up 4 of the Kingstons, one of the guys working there said there was a limit 2 per person. So I bought two and sent a friend in, and he went through a different checkout, and they gave him 2 sticks of a different brand (same speed), and they took the rebates right off so it only cost $20 for both of those (they were SpecTek).

I got a great deal :D

Me too, too !! Same thing about the speed - marked PC2100 on the sticker on the outside, but on the ram itself the sticker said PC2700. Including tax, $10.69 out the door, no stamps needed , no slow OM rebates to worry about. :D

I picked up a couple of these at the OfficeMax near me today. The last two they had in stock, in fact.

I wonder if I went back tomorrow if they would sell me some spectek as a substitute for $9.99 out the door? My system uses PC2700 but my GF could use another stick as could my brother... both only have 128mb of PC2100. :p

My deal.. went to 2 different OM stores. Both were OOS for the Kingstons.

At the 1st one, they said they were substituting the SpecTek. He said there was also a substitute rebate and said he will take a few minutes looking for it... darn it! He found the $27 OM rebate form for the SpecTek! Oh, well.. still $10 AR

At the 2nd store, the store manager guy had a tough time with locating the $27 OM rebate so it was $9.99 out the door! *Weak Homer Imitation* Woohoo! :D

All the one OM where I live is doing is giving rainchecks and they said if it don't come in before the rebates expired the instant rebate was the only one they would give me.
