Dead Keyboard

The keyboard on my Dell Latitude E6510 (Windows 10) suddenly quit working while the mouse/pointer continues to work fine. Numerous restarts, deletion of the keyboard via Device Manager (followed by reinstall), replacement of the keyboard have all failed to address the problem.

An external USB keyboard works fine.

Anybody have an idea how to fix the on-board keyboard?

wow, a replacement keyboard didn't fix it? if you plug a USB keyboard in it works fine, right?

Yes, I replaced the keyboard with a new one, but nothing changed. Since a USB keyboard works I'm at a bit of a loss as to what to try next.

Kinda sounds like the cable from the keyboard connector to the mobo might be compromised?

yea sounds like the connection or the mobo itself got compromised, although that kind of failure is like one in millions. ^^
