(Everyone else is selling for > $100 -- obvious pricing error)

1 HP is not liable for pricing errors. If you place an order for a product that was incorrectly priced, we will cancel your order and credit you for any charges. In the event that we inadvertently ship an order based on a pricing error, we will issue a revised invoice to you for the correct price and contact you to obtain your authorization for the additional charge, or assist you with return of the product.

Wow, this seems like a really good deal. There isn't a picture but here's one from the iomega website.
Micro
The problem with the HP price is that it's cheaper than the 256 MB and the 512 MB models. It might be a price mistake and HP tries to play hardball by claiming the following:

Charging and shipping an item and then trying to collect more money after the fact or trying to get you to return the item is probably not legal. They tried this ploy a couple years ago with some LCDs they shipped out to people. They tried to charge more,(by permission for CC authorization, I think), which they really couldn't and then they were harrasing the people that purchased them to ship them back. Pretty damn arrogant in my opinion. I would have told them to piss off myself. What they we doing wasn't legal as far as I know and it looks like they are trying to pull off the same thing in case there is a mistake. Can you imagine a store trying this sort of bullshlt? In CA, a store has to honor a posted price, forget about trying a later recourse for additional payment like HP tried.

Assuming it is a pricing error, some people would probably be able to get in on it if others wouldn't place rediculous orders for like 500, obviously tipping them off.

can they do that after you pay and recieve the item?

Well, they can try but no way can they charge you card again without your authorization.
They can ask you to send it back, but then again, it's up to you to do that.

I just paid this much for a 256MB version off of eBay. I'm all over this. Here's hoping we get this. Be nice everyone and don't order 50 of them!

Is that even legal? "We'll send you a revised invoice later"? That sounds like it would be completely illegal to sell things under priced, then send bills later.

I would think it would be easier to double check prices twice before putting them online. And probably cheaper. :disgust:

I already have a 1GB drive from OfficeMax for $30, but I like this smaller design better.
edit- Regardless, I'm in for one. But I'm sure some lazy a-hole without a job will purchase 500 to avoid getting a job.

Update: Order confirmed. Please nobody alarm the deal sites about this.. thats where most of the guys who are looking to profit off our deals lurk

I am in for one, thanks OP.

I went with the overnight shiping for 10bux, I figgure that gives more of a chance of getting the device.

Fugging tax on WA state residents is weak tho.

Heh, I went for 2 day because it was cheaper than ground. 😛

I don't have high expectations for it to ship all, but thanks for the headsup WilhelmII.

I think they either canceled it, or just hasnt ran thru yet.. but I got this message when I checked my status

Order number is not found in the Vista. Please contact an Account Rep or Manager for more information

Yeah, I'm assuming its canceled. HP scumbags. Honor your friggin prices or double check them before putting them online morons.

Its half indians there anyway, just pay them $1 more a day (effectively doubling their wages) and double check the damn prices!

Should I redirect him to my lawyer?
Granted, my lawyer is $200 an hour so its not worth it, but this technically is false advertising?

I'm glad I already have a 1GB drive for $30, but its not as cool and small as this guy wouldve been.

Its really funny how every place I work at, I'm always told "please the customer, please the customer!!!!!!!!" but the day I'm the customer the companys crap all over me.. its just weird.. I've never worked at a place that doesnt own up to pricing errors.
If anything, they find out who did the pricing error and either scolded him, or fired with a scolding.

I think my email was sent after I checked the status.
They probably dont want to call attention to the order and hope people forget about it and dont check it out.

Just got the cancellation email. Propbably should have waited for them to ship it before I posted it. 🙁
