Now down somewhat at Buy.com: $22.26, still with free shipping...

I must be dense. Can someone please explain the "AutoScan" mode? I've read the manual and I'm still confused.

Thanks.

I have to laugh. I have one of these on my pc right now and completely forgot about it. I guess it works really well. I disconnected the other pc (server) and forgot it's currently connected.

As to your question about the Autoscan mode, it allows you to switch from one pc to the other without touching the keys. Think of those security guards who have one screen that changes from one security camera to another every 5, 10, or 20 seconds without repeatedly keying the change.
As to the usefulness of such a feature, your guess is as good as mine.
Note about Autoscan, you cannot do data entry while in this mode. To exit that mode to entry mode you press the space bar ( I think).

Advice: Do a search on Newegg for Trendware/TrendNET as well as IOGear and read some of the problems/solutions to the use of these KVMs.

Ugh, someone needs to bump this up if it goes back down to $19.99 again.

Missed the deal by a couple of hours; saw it yesterday except Buy.com said 'Currently unavailable from the Manufacturer'.

I have a Linksys Kvm same type all moulded into one peice. If I use a usb/ps2 converter the mouse does not work well. I may have to try one of these, but I was considering a 4 port, for times when I am working on other systems and I could use 3 all the time.

I have a Zonet KVM3004 switch and it has worked superbly. No noticeable degredation in screen quality, the hot keys are easy to use.. no glitches.

There's one problem. The beep everytime I switch PC's. It is so annoying. The switch comes with the beep turned off and once you turn it on (using a hotkey) it can never be turned off again. The instructions didn't state this, so I didn't know I'd be making it permanent.

I am on the market for an affordable KVM unit (for 2 computers) that can disable beeping. Also, I use a different switch for audio because sometimes I want to keep the audio going on one machine while switching back and forth. This is especially handy when listening to mp3s on one machine.

Anyhow, does this IOGear KVM make noise?

Doh, I guess buy.com isn't putting back this deal anytime soon.

Had a question about this KVM.

If I had one computer running at a different resolution then the other computer, would this still function well?

ie. One computer runs at 1600x1200 and the other computer runs at 1024x768 ?

Thanks

I picked this up, but have not put it on yet. I use a MS Wireless Intellimouse explorer (5 button with scroll and tilt wheel).

Does anyone use this setup and have full access or problems with using some of the features?
