What I've gathered from that article is that this drive is roughly equivalent to a normal (not Max IOPS) Vertex 3, but with Intel NAND.

If that's the case, this is HOT.

Yeah I was looking at the 120gb for almost the same price not too long ago. Very good deal here. Is anyone familiar with this retailer?

Yeah, I've never ordered from them, but I'm fairly certain they're legit.

Yes, they're huge in photography, and 100% legit. They're one of the gold standards in retailers that business.

With the ways SSD prices have been plummeting lately?

It doesn't. The only thing shocking about this deal is that it's an Intel SSD.

odds of this shipping are probably lower than the bobcats winning the nba championship next year.

they have the 120GB version for only $7 less, they are both special order items, and the 240 was just announced 5 days ago.

someone probably just keyed it in wrong .

Agreed this is probably an error at $0.583/GB. But they're only a few blocks from my office, so I'll stop by and confirm this morning and report back. As for the seller's reputation, einstein4pres is correct in referring to them as a gold standard in the photography business, so I would think you'd be pretty safe ordering the drive and expecting a full refund (in short order too) if it turns out to be a pricing error.

Ordered, hope its not a price mistake.

As others have said, you shouldnt be concerned about BH Photo. Ive ordered everything from cameras to rifle scopes from them over the years and can vouch for their excellent customer service so far.

I'm guessing pricing error. No one at the store could answer anything about it. And the website now says "back-ordered" and "price not yet available."

They ripped two out of my cart and now indicate it cannot be put into one's cart. Big Surprise... knot....

How does this compare to Samsung830 and Crucial M4, which are $50 more?

My understanding is that Intel is the gold standard for SSD. The question people typically ask when purchasing other brand is how do they compare to Intel.

FYI, I've never seen an Intel one at anywhere near this price.
