With one rebate, it comes to $80, my local best buy has this drive on the shelf for $80, no rebates. of course, YMMV

You should get Staples to PM BB and then send in the rebates... :D

just wonder how to PM BB at staples. based on staples' PM policy:
*********************
Available coupons and rebates will be deducted from the Staples price to come up with a net Staples price when calculating the price match. For example, if you buy an item from us for $100, and we offer a $20 rebate, the net price is $80. If the item is available from another company for $80 or more, there will be no price match. Another example would be if you buy an item from us for $159 and you have a $30 coupon the net price is $129. If the item is available from another company for $125, the price match will be for $4.40 (110% of the difference). *********************

it seems that we can't PM. correct me if i'm wrong. thnx.

In responce to how I PM'd, just called up and never mentioned the rebates. The CSR had no idea they even existed or just did not care.
He called the following store:

493 South Rd.
Post Road Shopping Center
Poughkeepsie, NY
Store # 431
12601
845-485-1550

or at least that is what I told him to do.
Hope that answers all the questions

I am still trying to find a better price for PM...can somebody help me pleaseeee?

Compusa has it for 119.00, can it get better than this???

Sorry jolpot the drive was 97.__ when I called up, the only thing that I can think of was that they changed the price.
Ask someone to scan a reciept or a tag from bestbuy.
Sorry

I've read Ziptar's links, but I don't think these have the cards (anymore), I haven't opened my box yet, as I am considering returning it. At least they are fluid bearing, thats the good kind, right?

Has anyone gotten an ATA133 PCI card in theirs?

Might to get another $10 off by pricematching to Compusa website. There site says out of stock but I believe that is just for online orders. You can check for availability by submitting your zip code to see if a local store has any.

Went to Staples today and buy the FAR Flush card/smart media Reader 29.99 + this 129.99 HD,
3 rebates form print out and 2 are for the HD (2 different offer#, both req. org. UPC but i will send one with copy). The CSR was very puzzled by the long list of rebates. She said it may be backup copy. :)

Also, use the 30 off 100 email i got. So basically before tax the 80G for $39.99. Sweet deal!

What promotion codes, or what department numbers, are printing for the rebates at the store? Should start "02-". I bought this online and already used two of the promotion offers.

Thanks!

I'm looking at the Staple rebate center...and it shows three active $30 rebates?!? I clicked on rebate center...then "Get Your Rebate...did a "Search by Manufacturer" and clicked on Maxtor...then clicked "Next" page...the last three rebates are all $30 for the 80gig 7200RPM Hard Drive.

think there's a chance??? two rebates go to McAllen TX..the other one goes to Miami FL.

...risky!

scracer, I am thinking the same thing. What I am going to do is send all rebates in separate mailings. Of course, would have to with two of 'em. Should at least get two approved anyway. So still a good deal.

I read somewhere (I think it on Maxtor's own webpage) that they will be offering only 1 year warrenty on HD's purchased after this year. That sucks.

On the Rebate Center, it does indeed list 3 rebates for the 80 GB HD. HOWEVER one of them is for STAPLES ONLY, while one is for STAPLES.COM, and one for Maxtor. YMMV if you try to get all 3, as I am doing....muahahahaha

But different departments, akahai. Hey, one can only hope it is a "left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing." But with puters, the probability of success for all three is low.

I spoke to Mohammed @ Staples Rebate Center and he said they will accept a photocopy of the UPC.

Mohammed @ Staples Rebate Center told you that? Good luck!

ok let me get this straight here........................... so after the three $30 rebates.... it's only $39, i thought you said it was $19 dollars! Also after allllllllllllllllll these threads, what is the right answer? Will Staples accept a photo-copied UPC?
