**DEAD** HOT... Wireless Netgear MR814 - $49.95 A.R. - Buy.com (Nov. 5 Only!)

Is this Model any good from Netgear? I really only need the access point feature, and I am sure I can disable the router part and use this just as an Access Point with my Linksys Router, this way I can put the access point up higher on a bookcase or on the wall. Or, would I be better off just buying the Linksys AP WAP11? I am new to this wireless stuff but I have been reading alot over at practically networked.
 
Seems to be dead. You can't add it to your cart, and when you do a search on the website for the MR814, it comes up as being $103.53.
 
worked for me too. was this a good deal? i know little to nothing about wireless. i paid $96(w/cali tx) - 30 = $66. is that a good deal for this router? can i use it with my existing router and have a half wirred/half wireless network?

I've gotten all of my rebates back from New Rochelle. Currently, I have 5 rebates there all approved. One of them is being mailed tomorrow.

Darn! I checked anandtech forum at 5pm today. Didn't see this deal. I needed a wireless router too! the MR814 kicks ass. Much better than the MR314.

Man...went to sleep for 3 hours and missed it! 🙁

This deal is dead as far as the Nov. 5th sale price of $79.95 is concerned.
 
My price also came up as 100.xx, Buy.com says that this is a error and will not honor it. If anyone knows of places that you can use the site for PM, you might do so.
 
It never came up for 79.99 for me yesterday either, although I still bought it with a wireless card. I needed them for my laptop and dell would have charged me 40 or 50 bucks for more the same thing 😛
The rebates are pretty nice too.

Vescica, I ordered on Wednesday morning (Nov. 6) @ $81.93 shipped. Just because I'm new here, doesn't make me retarded 😛. Yes your deal was dead, but you could still get a similar price for a brief period the next day.

dakata: You can use a $10 off $100 coupon to get it for $63. Which yes is a good deal 😀
