Great find Thanks!
I'll check in tomorrow at my CC and cross my fingers.

BTW, my current 200 gig is a solid drive, although I had some data lost because I forgot to install the WD drivers but this was pre WinXp Service Pack1.
Be sure you have SP1 installed or use the WD drivers ver 10.0 or 11.0 so you don't risk data loss.

I knew I should have printed out the price it showed in the shopping cart last night! Now it just says to check the local store price! :-(

I think I missed this deal!

Yep, deal is dead. I picked a total of 5. I went back for another 5 at 11 this morning and they rang up for 249 🙁
At least I got a terrabyte out of the deal 🙂

You cant b/c Im going to order like 10,000 of them and resell them and take a trip to the South of France and like rent a Lamborghini and drive on the Autobahn in Germany and then meet this hot double-d breasted beach babe in Switzerland and then go off to Monte Carlo and win like $1,000,000 and then come back home and order like 10,000 more of them and do it all over again.....

LOL 🙂

I just got an interesting topic alert email from FW Link

Look at the bottom of the article Link, it says you can supposedly get 510gb from this 200gb drive. GOD how I wish this article was actually from a trustworthy site like anandtech or tomshardware, with the 5 drives I got I would actually have 2.5 terrabytes of space LOL.

I printed a copy of that receipt and took it to CC..and showed it to a manager..he basically laughed and said that the reciept was not legit (not flamming just repeating what he said). He called the phone number on it and said that it was to a legit CC in PA, but they had no knowledge of selling a drive at that price. Anyways he said that if the barcode or ticket number would have been on the reciept he could of tracked it and confirmed the price and then could of gave me the same deal on the drive, but since the info wasnt on there he said that it was not a legit CC reciept.
Again, I'm not calling anyone a liar or flamming just posting what the manager said to me.

thanks

Hey folks,
any of you know what happen to the original post from FW??
The link is dead and a search there yields nothing...

I was able to special order three drive yesterday morning, they should be at the store on tomorrows daily shippment...

Circuit City can bite me.

First, they screwed me on the 120GB deal, saying that I hacked into their website to submit the rebate on an unused system, even though I received the other rebate that I submitted the exact same way.

Second, when I went to pick up my drive tonight, they had returned the item in their system and told me that the price to get the drive was $249, even though my special order receipt clearly said $79 was the total price. They said that they would give me a $25 gift card for the inconvenience. I politely thanked the manager and left without a drive.

GRRRRR. :|

My CC still has not received the 3 drives I ordered. I hope they don't pull any crap and attempt to alter my order!!!

Did you prepay when you placed the order? I did. Maybe thats why I got it. Oh well.

I picked up my 3 drive yesterday. Found out that they received 5 drives total on the wendesdays truck. Had the nice cashier rang me up for the other two at the same price after showing her the printout from their web site for $79.00.

Now I am waiting for my SATA controller card to show up....
Ordered one for $21.99 shipped...
Those people have some good priced stuff

My wife ordered it for me while I was at work.
She can't think of any good reason why she didn't pay for it when the order was placed.

I'm gonna miss that woman.
