for those of you that have chosen the Q whats your thoughts? I have read allot of complaints about the keyboard, the battery life, crashing allot, running slow, etc. I am considering leaving the duability and extreme stability of my blackberry platform to have the extra "toys" windows offers (slingmobile for example) Keep in mind i use this device for business so even though i want the toys i need a solid product.

I'm not sure whats up with their site now, but it seems as though you can't order online anymore. They're asking to call if you want to order a sero plan. Anyone else see this?

I got the Q a week ago and love it! My business really needs me to be constantly on email and this really helps. The battery life took some getting used to. You basically need to charge the Q every night. One of my buddies has the extended battery. It basically let's you charge it every other night. Gone are the days when a cell could go a week on one charge. The software interface is clunky. Lots of clicks to do simple things, but mine has not locked up yet and the pros still outweigh the cons for me. It really depends on what you need the phone for.

I just read after searching on the web, people are circumventing this special pay plan and have been using any CDMA phone for a modem with no extra charge only using minutes instead, and nights and weekends means free internet access with no minutes deducted. I just wanted to make sure this is a possibility with say the Samsung Upstage or Sanyo M1 as I am wanting a nice companion when I'm not in a wifi friendly area, and don't want to pay for an additional internet plan I would be using sparingly..

Purdue are you saying you got 2 free phones and made $200??? You have the minus sign in front of the $200 which usually indicates a credit. The total rebates value is only $200 and the cost of both of those phones are quite a bit more than $200 a piece even.

Just called the 888 number and I got a person that wasnt properly trained to take my order; they connect me to someone that couldn't help me as they needed someone in employee services; then they couldn't help me as the program is for ordering on the internet only. Is this deal officially dead? They also mentioned I couldn't port my Sprint # over to SERO even though it isn't under contract and I said I would cancel the # and start the SERO as a new line of service but port my old Sprint # to it. Just damn!

UPDATE, by luck I called the 888 number again and they were able to sign me up. STRANGE... I did pay extra for the Moto Q as the $79 price was for new customers, and she treated my order as an upgrade.

Next thing is I need the referral for the $25 rebate. Who wants to make $25 bucks?

What email address did you provide?

And did they question if it was a legitimate sprint employee?

I went to the sprint store to try and play with the Q and the sales rep told me dont buy it most of them come back and everyone he knows that bought one now has a new phone! That isnt good when the sales guy who gets a commish on getting you the phone is talking you out of it. Also after playing with it i couldnt even find a notes section, is there one? there has to be for syncing with exchange right?

Yep that is what I am saying. Each phone cost an initial cash outlay of $99... Then I got:
$100 rebate per phone from Sprint (Total $200)
$75 rebate per phone from Kelloggs (Total $150)
$25 Gift card per phone for referal offer (Total $50)
That's a total of -$200!!!

SWEEET!

Did I get ripped off then? THe woman I placed the order with said since it was an upgrade she couldn't give me the $79 price for the Q but $99. BUT and a big BUT that is the price after a $150 instant rebate, and there will be a $100 Mail in Rebate bringing it down to $99. So.. I guess if I get the $75 and the $25 referrral I will break even. Does it sound like I got shafted? Purdue how did you pay out $79 for a Q when that is the price after rebates?

bwillis that won't help me since the $100 rebate requires $25 data plan, and since the SERO is unlimited data, I guess I don't qualify. I may return it for an Upstage.

When I bought my Q off the SERO website it was $99 before any rebates. BTW the $30 SERO counts towards the $25 data plan rebate requirement...

upgrades are handled differently than new activations, so you got the best deal available for an exsisting customer

I hope I get in writing the breakdown of the price I paid as she was telling me the Q started out at $499 or something crazy. Then she rattled off a few rebates ($150; $100; $75) bringing it down to $199 (which is where I started feeling like I was getting shafted) I honestly can't see how a $499 phone would be $79 without rebates unless it was refurbished. Basically I am trying to rationalize paying as much as I did to feel better about it.

Kelloggs Rebate form says for phones $299.99 and up. Is this for the MSRP or what you actually paid?

Anybody use it on a phone that cost less than $299.99 for from Sero?

Wow I can't believe this thread is still going on strong after a year and a half. I signed up for this right when it came up. Can someone give me a quick update on what's going on with the deal? I originally signed up with an A900 phone and I was wondering if there was a way to upgrade.

Also are people now getting free text messaging and a corporate discount as well?

any info is much appreciated. Thanks

With this plan is GPS navigation included? On the Sprint sight it says you can download the program but it is $2.99 a day or $9.99 a month unlimited use, or included with a Power Vision Data Plan. Isn't this Sero unlimited web considered Power Vision? If so there shouldn't be any charges for using NAV right?

the web service that is included in the Sero plan is the basic $15 plan that is available to sprint users. The Powerpack services are $20, and can be configured with either navigation, music channels, or tv content. For $25 you get everything. The $20 and $25 options are not available on the Sero, so you would need to add the navigation for $9.99 a month to it.
