Thanks LiQiCE !

One last question ... how do you use the $25 off $250 ? ALso, if you use that ... won't your total purchase drop below $400 and hence you'll only qualify for $60 instead of $80 from MSN ?

Is there any cheap item @ Crutchfield (about $17-18) that goes well with the JVC KD-SH99 ?

Ordered one (along with a Terk TV-42 antenna) !

Now how do I make sure MSN is going to send me the check ? Can I check somewhere how much MSN rebate I have qualified for ?

this is a damn good head unit, I have one of these but after I got a new car I took it out of my old one. Anyone want to buy it for $300 shipped? :D

this is a great unit..to clear up some questions...
you need to order the unit through eshop at msn and use express checkout
msn will sned you a link at the end of january to claim the check, from there it will take up to 45 days to reach you.
I think you only get 60 back though not 80...not sure on that
to PM with amex blue, order the unit and fax them a copy of the receipt as well as a copy of the ad/web site with the lowest price.

thats all there is to it..enjoy :)

doesn't the tax (if there is any) and shipping cost figure into the final cost? I mean, you ultimately are spending over $400....

there is no tax (at least for me) and Im not sure about the shipping...This is still a good deal 60 or 80 dollars makes no diff. Plus, crutchfield gives you all the wiring harnesses and trim plates you will need....even hotter if you account for that

No need to order anything else to get it over $400. The shipping cost is figured into the final cost.

Does anyone know how the JVC or mp3 players in general handle tracks with no silent gaps between them such as from a live album?

Was just wondering if the transition is seamless or do you get a small skip as one track ends and the other starts.

I went for the Blaupunkt San Jose, $299 from crotchfeel :)
I know Blaujunk, but what the hell, try a different one, I don't like jvc, they used to be total garbage, and still are to me. The SanJose model I got aso plays WMA files, and has a some more features the jvc does not have.
Just an FYI

Ray, the player handles RedBook (CD-Audio) CDs that have no 2sec gap (like live CDs) just as any standard CD Player would. There is a small, but noticiable gap between MP3s, however.

This is an excellent player IMHO, and I have been using mine since August. Definately worth the $300 I spent, and absolutely worth this deal!

When I was researching it, I found alot of info at www.highwaymp3.com.

It only took 1 day for the MSN confirmation to be sent to you?

Thanks for the info. I guess the solution would be to combine tracks for mp3's if I don't want the gap.

Just got the JVC in the mail yesterday.

it took less than a day..i ordered it at 10am and had the confirmation for the rebate by evening. don'confuse the confirmation with the link to claim the rebate...i don't expect to see that until the end of january. all i got was an email saying that i qualified for the 80.00 off at crutchfield....

hope that clears it up

Damn nice deal, This MP3 CD Player is really really cool too, I've owned one for about 4 months.

Check it out in my car!

I got it for $288+$16 shipping back when they were $400+ retail ($400 at sears, $449 at circuit city). Got it from www.ikesound.com's ebay auction... Actually more on his site ($300 right now, lol)

:D

what is that foam stuff around your head unit in that picture?

my head unit sticks out a little bit - i don't mind that, but i was just curious if you had the same same issue, and what that foam stuff is on your HU.

this is a great head unit. i got mine at ikesounds.com too. they have great service. the SQ is great for this thing. plus it just looks SWEEEEET. killer price!

I don't think thats foam, I think thats the texture of the trim plate that was used to mount the HU in his car....

I bought it this morning around 8 AM Pacific and still didn't get my confirmation, but I trust MSN as they worked for me last year on the Mercata deal :)

My order already shipped with the confirmed $25 off $250 coupon. Make sure to take the total over $429 (with the over $400 shipping price) or so if you use the $25 coupon for first time customers as it knocked me below $400 so my shipping went down and I didn't hit $400. Guess I need to do a little more buying. Here's my breakdown:
