I didn't have to fight at all... but I did apply my 10% off on the original purchase... so I'm not applying it just on the replacement order.

This is the Internet Cust Service/Sales department.
I called: 800-289-3355 ext. 61843

The rep I spoke with said he had a memo from his manager regarding how to apply the 10% off over and above the 20% + free shipping if it was ordered originally with the 10%.

I'm still a little confused as to what I'm going to do with my wall mount. The Panny one arrives today, my Electrograph should ship today or tomorrow... so I'll have to wait and see if it will work I guess... just didn't want to make the last minute trip to SoundAdvice for a $200 universal mount if this one won't work.

Anyone know of a good retail place to get a universal wall mount. Tilt is not needed.

ught .. i am not kidding when i say i have spoken with at least 10 different dell reps today and they are all absolutely clueless, even at the number you just referenced.

They said try gving them an order number to reference showing someone switching with the discounts...

i even had a rep tell me he wouldnt do it because it would drop the panel below cost and it would negatively impact hsi commision check!

big thumbs down to dell on this.

if you remember the name of the rep that handled this for you please pm me.

I hope to be able to tell you tomorrow. My stand hasn't arrived yet so it's been sitting in the box. It's killing me.

Funny, because my stand has arrived but my plasma hasn't. My stand has been sitting in the box for last week and a half...

Mine arrived at the freight depot on Friday, so I would have had to wait for a Monday delivery... so being the incredibly impatient person I am... I drove to the depot and picked it up myself.

It's pretty damn nice... and Peerless Panny mount I ordered originally fits perfectly.

The quality of the Plasma seems great... I wish I had something to compare it to... but I've never personally messed with any other plasmas, only what I've seen in stores.

The picture is great... the only thing that's hard to get used to is the scaling it does on different modes... the Natural Wide mode is the 4:3 with the edges stretched so the proportion of things in the center of the screen is correct, but towards the edges they warp a little. It looks really good though... the only time you will notice it is when a zoom shot is on someones head and they head trails off the side of the screen...

It does have 2 sets of Composite + S-Video inputs (AV1, AV2) and a Component input (AV3) along with the single PC input.

The only thing that I'm not 100% about is when I use the Composite output from my Progressive scan DVD player, the info display on the Plasma dosen't seem to show that it's using any higher resolution than just regular TV. So I'm wondering if I'm missing a setting somewhere on either the tv or the dvd player. I'll have to pull out the dvd instructions and see what I should be able to produce for an image. The Composite cables do run from the DVD to the HK receiver then to the plasma... so maybe that's why I'm loosing resolution, but that dosen't seem right.

Just curious how ever else likes theres. Post when you get it.

You have to use component, RGB or DVI connection to get anything better than 480i (regular interlaced TV signal). The DVD progressive option changes signal on component output only. The downside is that most of older receivers do not switch a component signal so you have to buy something like Audio Authority 4x1 autoswitcher.

OK, I hooked up my electrograph and found out that I was lied to by the Electrograph tech. The PC vga input cannot be used for component input. It is RGB only. I am not very happy with this. The component input is fine but it screws up my setup plans and is a waste of money since I bought the converter cable.

Thanks Will. I have a Harman Kardon AVR520, it has Component, but I don't believe it will switch it to another output. It just has a monitor output (which runs to the TV) and two inputs, so it just passes thru.

I did find what I was missing, my DVD player has a progressive output setting in the both the OSM and there is a physical button on the front. Sure enough as soon as I clicked the button the info screen on the Electro goes from reporting 480i to 480p. I won't say the difference is night and day, but you can notice it when you get real close up on the screen.

I thought that was an option only with the DVI connection? Of course the manual seems to agree with you in thinking it can run much higher resolutions. I'm going to screw around with it and my laptop this weekend. I am using this plasma as my main TV as well, so I was only planning on connecting up a small networked computer to it with a wireless keyboard and mouse just for surfing and light work.

My ship date still says 11/28 and I never received an email from Dell asking me for alternatives. Keeping my fingers crossed. Btw, I have been staring at my mount mounted to the wall for the past few weeks and I'm about to explode. :)

!!! DELL CANCELLED THE ORDER. If you have an order and are still waiting, check the status right now!!! They cancelled it for no reason. I'm on the phone trying to get this resolved!

I'm suprised it took them this long. Now how long till the cries for class action lawsuits come out.
