The newcustomer10 code worked for $10 off this PSU on an account I created a decade ago.

This is a VERY solid deal, people. This is a rebranded Seasonic S12II-620 with a bit lower efficiency; a very high quality unit when it comes to power output, voltage regulation, ripple suppression, and noise.

This will do just fine for up to a heavily overclocked GTX 580 coupled with a Gulftown Core i7.

Thanks for telling me the code works even on an old account.

I was not sure if I was going to get this or not (I do not need it), but I used the code provided (even though my account is older than dirt and a thousand or so has been spent on it), and it worked.

Getting it for 25 AR justified the impulse buy :)

"Although you've entered a valid promo code newcustomer10, your order does not currently meet the code's usage criteria." Oh well.

EDIT: Guess the total needs to be above $50. Now to find some cheap filler.

ttt ^

this deal is live again for today only! don't miss out!

This is way better than any of the weak "Black November" deals Newegg has offered recently. Anyone looking for a PSU under $100 should just buy this - it's as good as anything you'll find. OP - might want to remove the "DEAD" from the thread title (if you can - perhaps it's locked).

And that's the one drawback of Antec. It's part of their "green initiative", but it's not doing any favors to new system builders.

its still worth it even if you buy the cord separately for a few bucks...and in most cases, people have them lying around, or can bum one off a friend for free.

is the inability to use the "new customer" discount really a deal breaker for you? at $35 shipped AR, its already the best price-to-performance ratio you'll find on any PSU for sale right now ANYWHERE.

hmm, strange...i edited the thread title before i even bumped the thread, so how you still saw the old thread title 30 minutes after i posted, i have no idea. at any rate, its been fixed...

I've seen this problem before - it looks like the title to the OP is updated, but the thread title itself is not. Must be a glitch.

They call it the Hot Deals forum for a reason. It was either that or 50% off some beef jerky. :)

yeah, i'm actually seeing the glitch right now...when i view the thread, the title is shown as " *ALIVE AGAIN* Hot: Antec NEO ECO 620C 80+ 620-watt PSU $35 AR shipped," but when i click on the "reply to thread" link, the title is shown as "*DEAD* Hot: Antec NEO ECO 620C 80+ 620-watt PSU $35 AR shipped."

oh well, its out of my hands i guess...

This replaces a Seasonic S12-380, which is a fine performer in its own right. If the NEO ECO 620C specs even within 2-5% of the S12-520 in efficiency below 100W, then it's easily a worthy upgrade. This will be my second build with the NEO ECO 620C.

Nice review of the the Seasonic S12-520 at hardwaresecrets...

If anyone's interested, a fairly decent review of the Antec NEO ECO 620 at xbitlabs. I hadn't seen this one before.

If you employ a power backup, make sure it's one with a pure sine wave, not a stepped; otherwise, it won't be compatible.

you might have just solved a problem i've been having with one of my machines which happens to use an Antec Neo ECO 620C PSU in conjunction with an APC surge protector/battery backup. not once did APC tech support mention sine functions and stepped functions during the troubleshooting process, and so they "determined" that my out-of-warranty UPS was the root of the problem, since the battery inside was brand new, and my system never draws (or even spikes near) the UPS's 200W max rating.

so i have to ask you, should the Antec Neo ECO 620C not work at all w/ a "stepped" wave UPS? or will it work under normal wall power, but not on battery backup?

TIA,
Eric

Damn good deal. Should I get the Antec or this Corsair 430 watt for $25 ($10 less)?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139026

Building my brother a budget computer only used for general purpose, no gaming, don't think I'll even put a video card in there (just use onboard video).

620 of Antec would be overkill (and also burn power unnecessarily?) but allows more upgrade paths. Will be one of them in the next hour or two...

The Corsair has the larger rebate, but they're probably good for it. Honestly, though, there have been better prices on the 430, including free shipping. For $8 more after rebate/shipping, I'd get the 620, unless you need a power cord. In that case, the Corsair is the obvious choice.

EDIT: Newegg just put the Corsair on sale for $16.99AR/FS, lowest price ever IIRC, so BUY, BUY, BUY!

Thanks for the update, in for one.

It's less common for there to be good deals on ~600w+ power supplies like this.
