Squirrelmail is free and has TONS OF MODS available but it's not user friendly nor is it "pretty".

I just want something easy to use for family and friends and this is VERY easy to use, just like Hotmail.

I don't know much about this, but i have heard that Hivemail is pretty good. Check out Dixiesys forums, there were some talks about which webmail software to use, a lot of people recommended Hivemail. However, i'm not sure about the advantages over the existing webmail

Although it may not be as pretty, I think Squirrelmail is easy to use. It has the same features and is straightforward.

Nope, as I said in my previous post Squirrelmail is 100% free and has A TON OF MODS but this doesn't compete directly with Squirrelmail.

If you're happy with Squirrelmail then fine, great.

Any webmail servers that also support pop3 or are there any different programs that interface with eachother? I run pop3 now under mailenable and wouldn't mind a web interface but I don't want 2 different set of mailboxes...

the majority of web hosts, iirc, will run imap on their servers by default or by request.

The price has been $130 for the past 7 months i wanted this script. and yes, many people purchased it at the original price.

I just setup an account at addaction.net which has free webmail. I don't understand how I can incorporate hivemail with addaction.

Hivemail does look VERY nice though. I like it better then Yahoo and would love to set it up.

Ouch, you basically just ruined 8 past hot deals where you had to stuff your Officemax orders with FAR junk so you can use $25 off $100 coupon.

The real question is... can the licenses be resold once the sale is over...

yes. IMP is very nice. comparable to this Hivemail (1st time ive heard about it). but it's a b!tch to install. for a web illiterate as myself, installing Horde Framework and i believe some other stuff just to get IMP to run is alittle over my head.

really? are you on an Ensim or Plesk server? im on server 5 (ensim) and was able to install it following the directions. what are you having trouble with. maybe i can help you.

all i need to do is figure out how to link these with my actual email accounts.

and AHHH!!! IT DOESNT SUPPORT IMAP ATM!!!!!!!!!!!! oh well. i was searching their forums. they basically said, it's on our to-do list. not high up on the list. but maybe in a few versions (which i hope is within a year before my license expires).. if only Horde/IMP weren't so complicated to install..
