dead hard drives?

today, upgraded my psu to the antec neopower 480. when i booted my computer back up, it was hanging at the point where it was detecting my ide hard drives. it posted fine and everything up until that point. i've tried switching to a new IDE cable, booting each drive separately, and also hooking up my old psu. i'm still getting the same thing every time. the computer boots up fine when i have them completely disconnected. is it time for some new drives?

they are western digital 80gb drives.

if it happenes to be bad drives the reason is because they are western digital.... ive lsot 4 of em in 6 years, ive lost zero seagate drives....

wd strikes again...

on a lighter note i hope its something simple likst a loose cable (or possibly bad cable, try diff cable)....

i have 74gb hdd and there was not enough wires inside my pc, so I just recently got a external hdd PHR-100AC, and now I can use my 74gb hdd.
