*dead*GoGamer 48-hour Madness - Elder Scrolls: Oblivion for $34.90

text

I figure, like me, most of you nerds at ATOT already have this; but if not, well this is the lowest price I've found so far for the bestest game I've played recently - limit 1 per customer however, and this is for 48 hours - go get it!

😀

edit: why did I put in a thumbsdown? I meant a thumbsup! 😀

Dude, you're posting on an internet forum designed around technical discussions.
And you're asking if you're a nerd on a thread about a videogame.

What do you think? 😀

Your reading comprehension is DEFINITELY NOT hot.

8 hours left bump! I know they often go over the allotted time, but I've rarely seen them do it on recent high-profile releases; better safe than sorry, I always say. 😉

this is an AWESOME game , , , and this is coming from someone who HATED RPGs.

i have a PILE of started but never played RPGs . . . the only one i could finish was KotOR series because of the incredible Story . . . for an FPSer, the Real-time turn-based fighting is crap.

otoh, Oblivion plays more like Deus Ex/DE:IW or the original System Shock/2 - a hybred FPS/rpg. You PREPARE for a battle and hop into it with sword and mace, or sneak up and backstab or become a Bow Marksman and drop your enemy from the Shadows . . . or perhaps you like to Enchant, Poison and then Steal the Soul of your ememy using Magic or Alchemy . . . maybe you want to be a Thief or a fighter . . . it is all up to you . . . and you can chose any combo you like.

BEST of ALL, the fights are EXACTLY like in a FPS . . . you shoot, stab, block and run [etc.] all in response to pretty good Enemy AI. No more "dice rolling" by the computer. You fight in real time. With great upgradable and breakable weapons [and magic].

The story and the Main Quest is Great! The Graphics are TOP-notch and they run good on mid-range systems. Crashes are irritating but not that often for most people and the bugs tend to be minor. This is a well-polished game and well-worth $50

it is on sale . . . buy the game . . . there is no crap Starforce protection and you can back-up your DVD.

This is a really talented team and they should be encouraded . . . they spent big bucks on it and it looks like a labour of love.

OK? . . . this is MY opinion and "testimonial"

Not everyone will like it . . . if Doom 3 is your "kind of game", stay clear . . . this game is absolutely NON-linear and HUGE. 😉
[i have over 100 hours into it and am probably less than halfway]

😀

/testimonial finished

[back to Oblivion

Gogamer generally states it when the game is import, so I would assume it is US. I can't say 100%, but I've never recieved an import from them that was not listed as such in the description.

Thanks. It seems to be $50 in all the stores now, see I went in on this deal. I chose the $2.99 shipping option

Does this work in windows 2000? I actually purchased an OEM windows XP copy, but haven't bothered to install it yet.

Do you have to activate it (like Half-Life 2)? The reason I ask is if I buy it used, will I be able to play it?
Or, if I buy it new and I play it and then sell it, will the buyer be able to use it?

No activation or serial key. Just stick in the DVD and go! Well, after you install of course. =]

Huzzah to Bethesda for NO copy protection. It was easy to install a no-cd patch as well. Also, congrats on their LEAST buggy release to date. Not bug free, but no show stoppers for me, anyways. And I've put in over 200 hours! 🙂 Awesome game. If you're "trying before you buy", or taking a "wait and see approach". go buy it! It's a great game worthy of your money right now!
