Prob, but it sounds like a marketing gimmick in this case (perhaps for added overclocking headroom). The card doesn't actually need that much power.

Also, this card seems to be one of the cooler and quieter GTX660 Ti versions.

I've had this card in my cart since yesterday and I'm surprised it's not sold out already. I guess everyone already has a current gen card, or else they're looking to spend a little less or a little more.

a 660ti is not much of an upgrade over the 480. this one is oced by a bit so it will help even more but still dont expect a huge performance increase by any any means especially in games that need memory bandwidth.

Not that I am aware of. I'll keep checking. The nicest HD7950 deal I see right now is the $285 Sapphire 7950 with 3 free games. If you plan on overclocking, it's a much faster card then GTX660Ti but it's not $225. I think we should see HD7950 for $240-250 soon.

Thanks. I decided it was probably best to skip this deal and try to hold out for a 7950 in the sub-$250 range (the closer to $200 the better). It looks like prices have dipped down that low a few times in the recent past, so hopefully we'll see more deals that low before the holidays. I don't upgrade that often, so I'm thinking a few more bucks for the 7950 will be worth it for longer lasting performance.

It's a new system. Xeon E3-1230 V2, 32 GB of PC1600 DDR3, MSI Z77 board, dual Samsung 830's in RAID 0. etc.

As for games, I only have an older monitor that runs at 1600 x 1200 and BF3 is about the only game that I currently play. I'm currently playing on my old system of Core I5-750 and a GeForce 8800GTS 640GB card but, obviously, not at high settings!

Just got my card today. Running smoothly and no louder than my 480 I replaced. Neatest thing on this card is that you can flip back the fans for easier cleaning.

Haven't run any games yet, but did download newest nvidia drivers and everything is running smoothly. Downloading ACIII from Ubi as I type (came free with the game).

Well shit. I had a $20 rebate card so I decided to buy a Newegg $20 gift card and then buy this video card with the gift card/Discover. While waiting for the gift card to arrive, the video card went out of stock. Engineer is starting to get very frustrated in the quest to get a new video card!!!!!!

Ooops, been saying 480 when I just realized I actually had a 460. Regardless, the 460 was never loud and my endgame was to replace my kids' computer 8800 with the 460 and put the new card, whichever I ordered, into my computer. I ended up going with this one.
