Probably not, sisq0. The Q8200 and the G0 Q6600 (given you have a G0 Q6600) have the same TDP at 95W so you won't see much of a temp difference. However, I'm pretty sure the Q8200 is not going to overclock as far as the Q6600s (if you're into the OCing business).
 
Ordered for pickup (confirmed) but...
should I keep this or get the Boxed Q9400 for $180 @ MicroCenter?

BTW, Q8200 sold out now.

TDP isnt the actual max power.


intel and amd just put cpus into thermal categories so that heatsink builders can know exactly how much heat they have to deal with maximum for the category.


i mean obviously a Q8200 will use less power at full load than a q9650, but they are both 95watt tdp.
 
It was for real...picked it up yesterday. But, deciding to go with Q9400 instead. Anyone local to SF Bay Area, PM me if you're interested in it before I return it.
