Yeah they did. They had this message for you to update your information on the cpanel screen. The only thing it asks for is your e-mail addy.

Good thing I gave them a yahoo addy.

I think their host may have shut them down for excessive bandwith or somethin like that. At least now I don't get a server not found. They will be back I bet. Stop being so negative, if they were such a scam they would have asked for credit cards. An email address for spam is easier to get through a random word picking process than through site signups.

Hi I spoke to one of the support people from pchangout.net on aol instant messenger and he told me on friday that they been having dns server problems since people have signed up. So now they are transfering to a new dns server and everything should be ok and pchangout.net will never be down again well that's what they said and they said it will up back working hopefully on monday when the company is there to set up the new dns server. Well we will now just have to wait and see.

Okkkk. so, they limited the signups to 1000, am i correct? What a bunch of fools. Couldn't they do simple arithmetic to see that this wasn't possible? Yes, i will definetely be hanging out at pchangout.net when they open up. not.

I had migrated all my web pages over a few nights before they went down. I had set all my redirectors up and things were seemingly working ok. Serves me right for doing all that work knowing with a shaky Host.

Poor unrealistic planning on their part... maybe it was just a test to see how fast they can round up people for such offers. Doesn't look like much hope (from pchangout.net):

"The PC Hangout

We are currently down, and will be back up soon.

--- Web Hosting Clients ---

We no longer offer hosting services, we might soon have all of your files for you to access, but we are not 100% sure of that yet."

^^^I'm with him. It's 500MB space and it's free for three years. One mysql db free, php, cgi,SSH, ftp, webmail, pop3. You can put unlimited domains in your package, but they share the same space and bandwidth. I transferred one of my regged but unused domains over there. Process was a little lengthy, but you can't beat FREE for three years!!!!

BTW- I think they're signing up at least 1000 people per day. My buddy signed up hours after me and his customer number was like 500 higher than mine. Couple that with them advertising in every PC mag.
