DEAD: FREE webhosting (500mb/10gig/cPanel8.0)

This was posted on webhostingtalk forums two weeks ago and I posted it just in case some of you wanted another free alternative to 1and1.

We (pchangout.net) are now offer web hosting.. PCHO is now based on a new, dedicated server with Web Host Manager and cPanel 8.0. Free of charge, you will get:
500mb of Web Space
10gb Bandwidth
cPanel 8.0
15 MySQL Databases
Choice of cPanel skin.

you can either host a subdomain under their domain or use your own domain. if you use your own domain, their nameservers are:
ns1.pchangout.net , and ns2.pchangout.net.

i haven't really used this account since i have a reseller account at thrillhost, but it looks like a very good free offer (decent cpu at celeron1.7, uptime of 18 days, semi-low server loads)

Are you only given a free subdomain or do you get real www.yourdomain.com web hosting?

if you want real domain hosting, you have to email him with your info.

hmmm..... what if they're using their webservers to capture username/passwords for cms systems or databases you put on there? then they can try to apply those username/passwords to other sites since most people tend to use the same ones across many sites.

Sign up is easy, pick your username and password, and in seconds your site is created. Very nice control panel and files uploads fast. I had my index page online within 2 minutes of starting the sign up process.

depending on whether you got a domain or subdomain and where you uploaded it in your directory, it would be:

http://yoursubdomain.pchangout.net/yourfilename OR http://yourdomain.com/yourfilename
