Hmm, that's unusual. As long as you're a US resident (which I'm assuming you are by your avatar), then you should be able to register. Here's some info from their site on maybe why you weren't able to register.

I can't become a member.

Thank you for your interest in becoming a member of StartSampling!

To further assist you, here are a few suggestions that may help take you through the membership sign up process.

REQUIRED FIELD IS MISSING INFORMATION: When you hit the "Submit" button and the screen says, 'A required field is missing information,' move your cursor to the bottom of the screen where the field is missing information will be highlighted in pink. Fill out the required information and hit the submit button again.

WHEN THE PROBLEM IS WITH A SUB FIELD: For example, if you answered, "Yes" to having pets, the system will require you to input what type of pet you have. All details are carefully recorded and need to be answered.

USE THE DROP DOWN BOXES: Make sure you are using the drop down boxes and clicking on the appropriate answer instead of typing in the information. The only places you can type in your response are the name, address and referred by fields.

YOU WILL NEED TO ENTER YOUR E-MAIL ADDRESS TWICE: Make sure you are entering the exact same e-mail address both times. Otherwise you will receive an error message.

MEMBER ID HINTS: If the member id you have chosen is already in use, please try adding a number or initial to the front or back of the chosen member id.

Feel free to Contact Us if you still have questions!

Enjoy your sampling experience!

mmm, i'm pretty sure that you don't have to sign up for any of those advertised offers.

When you request your freebie, by the time see that page with all those offers on the bottom, you've actually already ordered your sample/subscription/whatever, and you can close your browser window.

Well, I signed up with Start Sampling using one of my shopping spam e-mail addresses. Hope I didn't make a mistake or get myself into any sort of a scam. I just know I'm going to regret this. Also was invited to sign up for some free Quaker bars.

- You DO have to be a member of Start Sampling (sign up here).
- Click on that green "click here" button, then on the white "order" button to request your free subscription.
- After you request the sample you DO NOT have to sign up for any of those other offers that appear. Just close your browser window.

Just FYI, it will proably take up to 3 months before you receive your first issue, but StartSampling is fairly reliable about sending their magazines.

Which "click here" button do you mean? I see one for "Click here to find out more about Reservation Rewards" and another one for Click Here to claim your $10.00 Cash Back Reward!" but I don't see any white "order" button on either of them.

Did you already order this one? If so, you won't see that green "click here" button. I ordered this already and see the exact same thing you do. But before I ordered it, I saw that green button.

hope this helps :)

Hmm, OK, then the only other thing I can think of is perhaps this offer is regional?

It may only be available to people in certain areas, as some Start Sampling offers happen to be. :(

I signed up for this a while ago. The only thing I've noticed since then is more junk mail. Oh... and no subscription... Go figure.
