cashed in my 1st coupon today.

there is no max value on the coupon. safeway has it for 1.69 and coupon took off 1.69.

the clerk however screwed up he had my use my safeway card and it ended up taking 1.69 off of 1 dollar for the soda.

eventually he figured it out but still screwed up as I only paid 78 cents.(tax and California CRV)

I was supposed to pay at least 85 cents. but whatever.

5 bottles down, only 80 more to go.

Weis Markets is still scanning these as "1 free" instead of "5 free" requiring them to come up with some creative thinking how to work them on the self checkouts. At ours in town, the method we've come up with is they have to scan the coupon, drop the signature pad stylus into the coupon slot to trip the register's coupon recognition system (as you usually have to drop the coupon in as you scan them), and rinse and repeat however many more bottles they need to take off (occasionally requiring the store card in between tries to override).

That particular method works in the customer's favor when the soda is on sale as the coupon will take off the full value of the bottle (1.59) and not delete whatever savings were from the sale price (in other words, free money)

Finally starting to receive my first coupons. I had gotten in on this deal late so I guess they went in order received.

got 3 more in the mail today, so this confirms to me that they are sending them out in the order that i won them. i got my first 1 monday last week, got one the day after, then i remember going a long period without winning, until i won 3 in 1 day, which i got today. so 5 down, another 16 to go

just got back from my local rite-aid, paid $.43 for 5 bottles........ took awhile for a manager to find a why to put it thru but 10 mins. later i'm good.

With three people playing, we won most every day, but we've gone several days in a row w/o getting any (like no mail yesterday, and no coupons today). There's clearly some "bunching" going on when they mail these out.

Received 1 coupon 2 weeks ago, 1 last week and 3 today. Damm you guys have to pay when you pick these up? No tax on food here and no bottle deposit either. Picked up my first 5 @ Kmart and didn't spend a cent. 😀

Wife got 1 in the mail.

Scorecard so far...

Cat - 4
Wife - 1
Me - 0

Still looking for somewhere around another 15 coupons. 🙂

does your cat drink a lot of coke ? my cat won't touch coke, only beer

Okay, so the savings isn't all that much but...for those folks who have to pay tax on the full retail price of the soda--if at all possible, it's better to redeem when the Coke products are on sale. Yeah it ain't much of a savings but at the same time, nothing's really lost either by shopping around for the best bargain.

Even if you have to pay the tax on full retail.

$1.39 x 5 = $6.95

Tax on $6.95 here would amount to $0.49. I'll take 5 - 2 liters of Coke for a whooping 4 bits. 🙂

Dammit, I thought I was getting bottles, not no stinking coupons !

The Olympisans got medals, not no stinking coupon for a medal !

I finally got my 1st 3 coupons yesterday. Has anyone tried using these for any other Coke products? Nestea, Dasani, etc?

Great question. I imagine eventually we would get bored of drinking just Coke. I'll try it and report back. Here is the list of the products that Coca-Cola manufactures, thanks to TGregg.

Alhambra, Barq's, Bright and Early, Dannon, DASANI, Evian, Fanta, Fresca, Five Alive, Full Throttle, Hi-C, KMX, Mello Yellow, Minute Maid, Nestea, Odwalla, Pibb, Seagram's Ginger Ale, POWERade, Simply Orange, Sparkletts, Sprite, Swerve, Tab, VAULT.

Is there a list of the brands/flavors that come in 2 Liters?

Lets see :

Coke, Minute Maid, Sprite, Vault ........

any others?
