Great player. I've had mine since the release and it's awesome. Does 1080i upconversion through both component and dvi. One of the few players that will do that. Highly recommended!

thanks OP. just picked one up... I just started looking for one of these players on ebay a few days ago. This price beats ebay and it's brand new.

It really depends ons the player.

I have a cheap Sharp DV-S2 with Faroudja DCDi (480p) and it looks impressive. Grabbed it for $50 on eBay. I haven't seen an upscaling player for <$500 that looks better.

One of the better features of this upscaling player is that is does include a Faroudja DCDi scaler that is usually featured in more expensive units. That and the fact that it can pass 1080i over component (good for those with older HDTV or no free DVI connections) have made this unit and its LG twin popular.
