The original Fallout? But it won't run on Windows 7 (or even XP as I remember). Still AWESOME game.

Yes, it will. You barely even need to do anything to it if I remember correctly (I got it to run off my own cd before). Even if it didn't that's exactly what gog is for practically (getting old games to run). Off my old install I ran into the cathedral/military installation bug though T.T was just about to finally beat it.

lol. I swear, every time there's a thread about GOG.com, there's always a newb who says "But these game(s) are really old and won't run on newer computers!"

Actually it will. That's the entire point of GOG. They take old, classic games, pre-mod them to be 100% compatible with Windows XP/7, and sell them for cheap. The game should install and run out-of-the-box with no issues whatsoever. :)

HOWEVER, there are a bunch of unofficial patches that I recommend installing for a better experience. They fix a lot of in-game bugs, improve the graphics, allow you to play in widescreen resolutions, etc, etc: http://www.gog.com/en/forum/fallout_series/fallout_mods/page1

So I have the original disks from way back when it came out (and it isn't that old). That version won't run on Win XP or Win 7 (un-modded).

And haven't purchased anything from GoG, so....

They'll give you like 7 other games free just for joining.

Just browse games, sort by price, select free . . . .

Nice. I have the original full box and a jewel case version, but a GOG DRM-free version will complete my collection.

And yes, it runs fine on XP (I haven't tried 7 yet).

You can thank them by buying FO2 or Tactics, then go help fund Wasteland 2 -- it looks like they are getting the funds to have Chris Avellone help with it (and probably Tim Cain):

I still remember calling Interplay in college because I was playing fallout and I got the "1000s of Ians everywhere" bug. They promised to send me a floppy with a "patch". I never got it, and re-started the game a half-a-dozen times.. Because it was that awesome. I still have Fallout in it's jewelcase and I'll be snagging GoG's as soon as it lets me in.
