I think Frys mislabeled that unit as modular, as all the pictures on retailer's websites show cables, and no other lists it as modular.

If you don't care about it being fully modular, Newegg puts the Seasonic S12II series on sale almost every other week. For example, the SS-620GB just came off sale 2 days ago, and was $30 after rebate.

Great deals. Grabbed a G2 650. I was tempted by the G2 750 for just $10 more but the 650 is supposed to be passively cooled to about 500w. That's awesome.

Even if you decide to disable silent mode, the fan is quiet. I have a 650w G2 in my son's computer, and I can't hear it.

The only real difference between the 650w and 750w G2, is the 650w has a 7 year warranty, and 750w and up come with a 10 year warranty.

That's the one I keep looking at too. I don't need it at all, but I keep thinking to myself "Well, you know when you build a new computer in 5 years.....". It's a dangerous train of thought for sure.

I think that is the cheapest I have ever seen that unit (rebate or no rebate).

They still get pretty warm, for a "Gold" PSU. To be frank, that concerns me, and I've had my overclocked R5 1600 rigs reboot, if I don't crank the video card's Wattman Power setting down to -10% or -15% before mining on them.

Rosewill PSUs are hit or miss in the quality control department. Sometimes I have seen them marked down to like $40 from $100, and then I read the reviews. It's a lot of people giving it one-star reviews because they died after 6-12 months. I know you take user reviews with a grain of salt, but you can see the trend.

For PSUs, I stay with EVGA, Seasonic, and Corsair. Thermaltake has also launched a few higher-end, all Japanese capacitor models (Toughpower Grand & Toughpower Gold), and I might consider one of those if they are competitive in price compared to my preferred PSU companies.

About a month ago, Newegg was actually giving away a Rosewill PSU for free (after rebate) with a case purchase, and it looked like an amazing deal. But then I read the reviews on it, and said no way even it was free. It was their bronze 'Arc' series.........because I guess it would arc on you when it died

Now that I am looking at that picture on my PC monitor, and not my phone, you are very correct.

Although technically that would be a semi-modular design. So technically I was like 25% right.

(And man is my eyesight getting bad. The eye doctor was very correct last year telling me I would need bifocals soon).

It looks like PS companies may be calling semi-modular as modular.
And modular, without the MB supply cables attached, as Full Modular.
Rosewill is doing just that.

You are correct again. I usually don't look at Rosewill PSUs much, but they really should call any PSU with a fixed 24-pin main power cord (or any non-removable cable) a semi-modular model. But without clicking on the additional pictures, a person would see it stated as a modular design, and probably wouldn't know until they received it. Very confusing IMHO.

True. But at least they list the fully modular as "full" and the GQ as "modular". Then if you clicked on the GQ for further info, they state semi-modular right after the wattage (a little more transparent than the Rosewill) IMO. I had to click through several pictures to see the cable. But I do agree instead of listing it as "modular" on the comparison screen, they should call it "semi".
