I went B&M to pick up the e8400 combo today and found this on the shelf at the Wilsonville, OR, location. I had seen the 119 pricing in the advert but it didn't mention the rebate so I was pleasantly surprised. They had 4 more as of 10am this morning. Good deal for any Portlanders who read this.

Mine finally shipped, ordered the 5th. Card now shows as in stock, so they must've gotten a huge shipment today.

Yup, not dead....darn. I already ordered my 9600GSO. Hopefully I'm better off with my purchase since I might get more of an OC...

doubt it
GT is lifetime warranty, GSO is not. GT is allready clocked nice and high. Doubt GSO will reach same speeds as stable... but whatever
meh, who cares...

Would this card fit into my Dell 5150 case? It is pretty long. I have a 7600GT XXX in there right now. Also, would I need to upgrade the stock PSU (305W, I believe)? Thanks.

here's a good review...

http://www.nvnews.net/reviews/...600_gt_ssc/index.shtml

That review compare's to a overclocked 8800gt.

This SSC 9600gt is about equal to a stock 8800gt 600mhz core 1800mhz ram.

Granted you will most likely overclock the GT too. but this SSC compared to a stock 8800Gt is about equal.

And getting stock 8800GT performance for $67.00 is excellent.

DEAL is DEAD now.

Maybe with AA benchmarks but when you want raw frame rates it just doesn't compare to 8800gt no matter how much you overclock the 9600gt.

This is such a steal still. Plays crysis warhead on gamer at 1360x768 25-40fps! (No aa obviously lol). Sure it might not be as great as your 8800gt. But we don't care, because it's only $59. :) My rebate said it was approved like 3 days after I sent it out, too. Evga is great.

Got a rebate problem???

The promo code for this 9600gt is 08-33046
The promo code for the 7200gs is 08-33046

Is this gonna be a problem???

the small print on the rebate form says "Rebate cannot be combined with any other EVGA offer or promotion. Limit ONE rebate per product, receipt, household, family or address."

has anybody else noticed this who purchased both cards???

is there a # i can call to see what is up??? 1-888-295-7778 ???

It might be in this case, but don't take that as gospel. For example, Newegg has two (well, more like six) EVGA 9600 GT SC cards that are the EXACT SAME CARD and at the same price. Part numbers are 512-P3-N862-XX. One card, the XX = TR, giving it a short warranty. The other, XX = AR, giving it a lifetime warranty.

I am in the same boat. I didn't notice it until I read your post. My 9600GT rebate from 9-6-08 is already approved. I just sent the 7200GS rebate in Friday. I think I will wait until they say yay or nay until I sdo anything. Worst case is, if denied I call them up. If that's no good, I take my copies to Fry's and explain and let them deal with EVGA. The promo numbers are the same but the reward is different. Not to mention there are on two separate rebate forms.

edit:
Thanks for the catch tbogstad. :p

Yeah i just went ahead and mailed both the rebates and will call and bitch if 1 rebate is denied.

ALSO, i just ran GPU-Z and my 9600gt ssc is overclocked even more than it says it is.

core 740, Memory 1000, thats a extra 25mhz. and shader 1850 thats a extra 15mhz.

for less than $67.00 this should hang with a stock 8800gt, and from the overclocks i have seen online core of over 800mhz, and memory of 2200mhz is possible.

Only betted deal would have been 2 of the $36.00 8800gs's is SLI, but i don't have a SLI board so I am out of luck there. and would have to deal with doing a rebate in a friends name for the second card.

Just got a email today saying the $30.00 rebate on the 7200GS was approved and the $60.00 rebate was denied,"for MISSING RECEIPT",ofcourse they deny the larger rebate.

Anyway, I called up 1-888-221-4692 press "1" then press "0" and you will get a customer service rep, he said there was no copy of the receipt, which is "BS" as a matter of fact I think I sent both A COPY OF THE "PACKING SLIP" and a printed out the invoice from the frys website too and included it too, since neither peice of paper said Receipt on it.

He told me I would have to resubmit, but I argued with him a little more and he asked for my date of purchase of the reciept, whic i had in my hand, the original, and aparently they can look up FRYS sale information and find out that i did indeed purchase the 9600GT on that date and was eligible for the rebate.

So he approved the rebate and it is in process now, so I should be getting 2 checks, one for the 7200GS $30.00 and one for the 9600GT SSC $60.00 in about 2 to 3 months. Finger crossed.

Apparently the fact that both offers had the same promo code did not matter, like I thought.

I received my 60.00 rebate for the 9600GT on Saturday. It was fast. It was only 14 days after they received it. The 30.00 7200GS rebate is still approved the last time I looked.
