It's funny how everyone that ordered the SSC is getting shafted, but those who were more modest and went with the SC version are receiving their orders.

I just got the backorder email and I ordered my SSC at 6AM when the deal was just posted.

Does anyone have the phone # for buy.com? I want to cancel my order 🙁

Yeah! Freaking hilarious!

My last buy.com deal that was backordered got canceled a few days later. I didn't even get an email. I checked my order status, and it said canceled. You can always hope though.

I did recv. "THE EMAIL" ; As a glimmer of hope:

My order status shows as "processing", in addition, it has been updated to show as being "In the shipping process"

Anyone else?

My order has shown "in the shipping process" since Saturday morning and I just got the backorder email.

The SSC deal was posted before the SC deal (long before it hit AT). It was an unbelievable price, so anyone who had the slightest need for a new card would have ordered it. Personally, I would've ordered the SC because it was cheaper, if it had known about it earlier. I even considered canceling and ordering the SC to save ten bucks, but I figured it was too much of a hassle, since they were probably both mistakes anyway.

Anyway, I guess I'll wait another week or two and see if they really intend to fill these backorders or not. In the meantime, I'll keep my eyes open for a better deal. I was originally planning to wait for a good deal on a 55nm 260 until this deal came up. If there's a good deal on a 260, I'll order that and cancel my backorder.

You just burst my bubble.. I hope you feel good now

Why was buy.com selling SSC cards when they didn't have any? It said "in stock" ready to ship 1-2 days.

They should be sued.

Goodness...It's this trigger-happy, someone's-gotta-pay-for-this-mistake mentality that makes us Americans the laughing stock of the rest of the world. How often have you seen a good deal in the ads, go to the store, only to find out that it's already sold out? Buy.com may or may not have real-time inventory; if it does, can it cope with the sudden spike in online orders? That is why all ads carry fine prints about typographical errors, or that availability may vary. If you see an item listed for $100, but when you check out it shows only $10, are you going sue them for undercharging you? I doubt it. Cheers for those that have already received their cards; as for the rest of us who didn't get in fast enough, better luck next time. Chill out--it's not the end of the world.

EDIT: It's times like this I wish we had a Fat Wallet style rating system

Sold out? No one got their SSC. Buy.com was quick to take our money though right?

If it says "in stock" usually ship in 1-2 days I expect my orders fulfilled. I ordered 2 cards. 1 SC and 1 PNY and none of them has been honored when I paid for it.

You are forgetting that buy.com has, and always will suck ass. They used to be REALLY bad, but the last few orders I got from them have been ok. I guess that is not the norm however.

Just logged into my Buy.com acct and found out that my BFG OC2 card is getting delivered today. Sweeeet! Price was $227.99 after $10 coupon and free shipping.

Was in "processing" status for a while. Now just got my order cancellation email. This blows.

many received the "backordered" email today; this is the first "cancelled" email reported today. What did you order?

I ordered at 9:31AM on Saturday (thought I had a glimmer of home) and payed with PayPal.........just called them up to check on the status and I was told that it's back ordered, but I will most likely receive an email stating cancellation within a few hours (along with many others).

Poop.

My status was changed from being in "shipping processing" all week to "sent to warehouse" so a "Cancel" link shows up now. It sounds like they're getting ready to cancel all the orders.

Ah well, now I don't have to worry about redlining my power supply.

Just wanted to share my horror story with you guys. I tried to cancel this order with buy.com and the guy who I spoke with on the phone was very rude and kept telling me to wait for the cancellation which takes 3-5 business days. I know they just place an authorization and not an actual charge, but those funds are not available to me while buy.com is holding an auth on my credit card. Their inventory system is obviosuly shit and I am done with buy.com for good now. I will continue to buy from newegg from now on.
