Edit: Deal ended Sunday

The promo started today so I thought I'd spread the word here.

You can grab more than 3 games. I got 9 games total, and the cashier was actually quite fair. I had six games that cost around $20 each, and 3 that were $5-10. He took off a pair of $20 games, and one $5 game...rather than taking off the three cheapest games ($5, $5, and $7)

He said the system is designed to give you the best deal automatically on every three games...so take advantage and load up on the great titles you have missed over the past few years ;)

I went around to a couple locations and had epic success filling up my RPG collection...It gave me a total nerdgasm.

I scored:

Jak & Daxter The Precursor Legacy
Arc the Lad Twilight of the Spirits
Wild Arms 3
Shadow Hearts Covenant
Dark Cloud 2
Suikoden 3
La Pucelle Tactics
Baten Kaitos Origins
Valkerie Profile 2

out the door for $100 total including tax. Retail price a few years ago was $450...can't beat it ;)

Hmm, B2G1? Sign me up!

Although I wish they'd let you do a new game... Lost Odyssey + Eternal Sonata + Persona 3 FES = nerdgasm.

YMMV in the Gamestop in Berkeley, CA - I tried to get We Love Katamari (29.99), MGS4 (4.99), and HSG3(7.99) and it came out to ~$41. I realized I was trying my luck and mentioned to the cashier that other Gamestops marked the more expensive one as free, but no go. Walked out with nothing. :(

Edit: Just saw the ad on their website: must be of equal or lesser value. Doh.

Err... B2G1 sales ANYWHERE for ANYTHING have NEVER given the most expensive one for free. This is how it always works...

Indeed. I don't know why anyone would think they'd be able to get a relatively expensive game for free after buying two cheap games.

The first post is kind of confusing with that. But yeah at the store it clearly states that it takes the cheapest of the three for free.

People assuming that it's strange to not know these kind of things - that's one of the disgusting parts of our society.

Sorry about the confusion in the first post. I'm no good at math and can't put into words very well how this works.

Basically, their system won't rip you off by only taking off the cheapest games of the lot.

If you get 3 games that cost $10 each and 3 games that cost $5 each, the system should take off $10 + $5..which is the lowest of the more expensive three + the lowest of the less expensive three.

Yup, and if they don't, then just purchase the two sets of three on separate recepts.

I picked up God of War 2, GT4, and Ultimate Alliance for the PS3, all for $37 out the door, pretty awesome, I'm gonna have to go back, lol.

Can anyone confirm that this sale is still going on? My local (zip 94583) ad says it ends Sunday, 5/4.
