Staples.com has the Cendyne 48x12x48x CD-RW drive for $79.99. Use the 20$ of 50$ purchase coupon floating around at obese billfold's forums. Then there's a $30 MIR here: Staples Rebate bringing your total to 29.99$ + tax. There's free shipping on most items till 12/28.

$79.99 Drive Cost
-20.00 Coupon
=
59.99 + tax
- 30.00 MIR
= 29.99 + tax after everything's said and done. Not too bad of a deal for people looking for a decent drive for a relatively low cost that don't have a close BestBuy around them for the Buslink drives.

Link added thanks to luv2save:
Drive

Edit: OfficeMax has the drive for $49.99, so like with what Engineer said, with a PM + Coupon + MIR you could get this drive possibly for free (+ tax).

Edit: The deal was discussed several times at FW...not at AT. Sorry for the confusion....spending too much time looking for hot deals...hehe! :p

This deal has been discussed several times. Pricematch OfficeMax, who has it for $49.99 after instant rebate, and get it for almost free (if not). :)

The one I got (after PM and coupon, I might add) was a Liteon...but Cendyne has several models. If the model # begins with LTR...then it's a Liteon (Even has the Liteon label on the inside).

Good Luck! :)

Can anyone tell me what manufacturer mine is?

Part #: CDICD00118
Drive Model: CW 4802
Serial #: AGC12F22280#####

I got mine from staples.com. Had a pricematch planned to OM, but then they pulled them from their site. Now trying to get them to PM w/OM B&M (do you think it would be better to just drive over to staples B&M to do the PM?).

Will staples/OM usually exchange a drive just because you want a differently branded one? From what I can tell, mine is an Optorite. Dunno if I should try getting a LiteOn or not...

One problem is that I used a $40/$40 "Award Certificate" and I bet they'll hassle me about that during the PM. It wasn't really a coupon, though, since I got it from the Discover card double cashback bonus thing...

Lore...didn't get that lucky...only LTR48125W....not the 6th generation chipset....that would have been nice.....however, I have read that the $29.90 out the door price for the 48x12x48 Buslink models at BestBuy (YMMV) have been coming as 48x24x48 LiteOn's upgradable to 52X. YMMV....Good Luck! :)

RE:"Anyone have any idea whether this is a LiteOn or AOpen?"

Can be Liteon, Aopen, Acer/BenQ or I guess an optorite. The first three for sure because I've got them all from Cendyne.

Sure it wasn't a 48x12x50?

Cendyne appears to really be clearing out Taiwan.
Yours would make 5 different drives they are selling as 48x in this promo.

I bought 2 of these drives and they were both the 48/24/48 models. I got one for $29.99 out the door and the other one I had on raincheck I got for $29.99 out the door, but when I purchased it there was also $50 worth of rebates so I guess my net is -$20 on that one :)

Just goto Fatwallet.com (who says this is a banned word;) )
Click on forums
Then click on hot deals
Type Staples into the search bar and click search
The info you need should be in the 2nd link down

thanks to the deal poster here and everywhere else. i just did this deal at staples.com for $32.77 - $30 rebate = $2.77!! ($46.99 for the burner (110%) + I got some stuff to go over $50 to use the coupon).

WOW! THANK YOU! I guess I can't cry too much if I don't get a lite-on :) :) :) The CSR didn't want to do it, but a supervisor verified the rebates are both $30, so it was a valid pricematch to officemax!!

RE:"Oops. Ya it's a 48x12x50"

It's an Aopen then
Text

Actually I have a TDK 32x that uses JustLink, it works well. I wonder if it's an Aopen? Humm

I got one and will probably keep it. Not sure what I will do with the BENQ 48x16x48.

:D Thanks!

CSR gave me a hassle about where to find the Officemax posted price so I just said that the pricematch should be in their system since "I know others have gotten it" and she dug a little and then pricematched it to $49.99($46.99 after 110%) for me:D

Woot! supposed to be here tommorow! - Nice
