I have a question for all of the 1800fp owners. Have you tried the new cleartype that is optimized for GRB LCD's? I am wondering if it works as good as the RGB variant.

I went through the Microsoft Cleartype tuner webpage and the BGR settings look a lot better on my 1800FP than the RGB settings (because the 1800FP is a BGR monitor).

Finally got a confirmation email for 3x 18" and 4x 19":

Your total amount for the order you placed is: $3,192.47
This includes:
Subtotal: $3,011.76
Shipping/Handling: $0.00
Sales Tax: $180.71

Good deal, wish it wasn't taxed...

I have the most amazing Fed-Ex driver who calls me every time she has a package and asks me when and where she can deliver it to me - home or work. The monitor's on her truck

I still have no power thanks to the bitch named Isabel. :-[

Of course, all my neighbors do!!

Is this in the specs anywhere, or did you just come to this conclusion based on looking at it?

My monitors are in the Fedex sortfacility Today they should go out tommoro,I will take a PIC of the 1901FP Dual Setup......Can't wait...! I already sold the NEC 1850X I was useing and am useing a 19" CRT for the mean time...Uhh CRTs again ....I Don't like....

Ordered on the 17th and recieved my 2 1800fp's today. Looks nice but I think I like the Benq 17" better. The Benq definately had less ghosting.

Now do I sell one of the 1800fp's or use them as a dual setup?

In CA too, status still in production, order 17th, suppose to be send out 23th.

Did you find out about the delay through email or checking the dell site?

ordered on the 16th 2000fp

said to be at the local airborne station in los angeles as of 6:17am...it was shipped from fresno on the 20th...i didn't know dell has a factory in fresno???
or is it a distribution center?

i guess i won't be getting it today...cross my fingers for tomorrow...

I have both 1800FP and 1901FP. Unfortunately, 1901 does ghost slightly more than 1800FP, maybe it is because of its bigger size since they both have the same 25ms response time in spec sheet.

With that said, i have no trouble watching most of the movies; for very fast-action games, 1800FP is better to use.

But it is just hard to resist keeping 1901FP since it is truly a beauty. For its bigger size, swivel ability, and USB ports, it is easily forgiven.

Guess I will still keep 1901FP and try to sell the 1800FP,

*ADDED*:1901FP also has a better viewing angel (more correctly sustained colors from side view) than 1800FP.

How many years of warranty do these monitors have? Mine came without a service tag, so I could not check its warranty on the web. Thanks.

Ok, another 1800fp question. I like the display but there ia aa problem that is nagging me. When there are certain letters that are next to each other the letters seem to have an orange or reddish blending. It only happens when the letters are straight like a bunch of llllll's or iiiii's together. It is very noticable in the address bar text in IE. Can anyone who uses cleartype try this out and see if you get the same thing? Any suggestions on how to get rid of it?

Example

I went and picked my Dell 1901FP today from FEDX,they arrived there today from my Local airport, they weren't due out untill tomoro 9-23-03...I can say this I played Soldier of Fortune 2 online tonight and had no ghosting problems.I did have an NEC 1850X 18" LCD befor this and it had 28 or 29 milisecond responce time,This Dell 1901FP @ 25 seems to be faster...I also used Microsofts ClearType
HERE and it made a big diffrence to the Text size and clerity .....A/E User defind..I also used MonitorsDirect Toolkit and I had no dead pixles on one monitor....Its perfect*!*,and the other one has abought 8 Dead*!* So I will be sending that one back to dell for another one*!* Toolkit HERE This is a great tool to use....

And finally here are some PICS PIC 1
PIC 2
PIC 3
I can't say enough about the User friendly Monitor from Dell here, I give it 4 out of 5 due to a little on the dark side for gameing @ 100% Brightness its still alittle behind the NEC 1850X and a standard CRT when in Dark Worlds..........I Like them very much @ this piont and I think anyone who bought the 1901FPs will to ......I see no problems with ghosting at all as peole have reported.... I am running a ATI 9700PRO AIW and am upgradeing to ATI 9800 PRO for this Dual set up..........CB

Maybe it's weird but did anyone else get an email saying their order is delayed but yet the order status says shipped?

Yep typical Dell.

3 of my 4 orders have shipped.

Mine shipped on 9-22, and it's supposed to be to me by 10-1.

I can't wait to get this, I've been using a 21in CRT for hte last 4 years, and it's killing me.
My desk is about to brwak from the weight,
my back is about to break having to move it around,
and my desk is pulled almost 2 foot away from the wall so the damn thing will fit on the desk.

I'll put in my vote now that this deal be the AnandTech Hottest Deal of the Year!!!!

My 1901 finally shipped on Monday from CA. Luckily I'm in Los Angeles. Just checked status and it said it's out for delivery... should be here soon!
