Oh well
bit the bullet and bought me a pair of 1901fp.
Now I get to compare firsthand.
If i likes what I sees, I'll keep 'em.

Just ordered the 1800FP yesterday for under $400.00. I've been waiting for this deal for weeks, finally I can enjoy some LCD goodness 😉

Anyone know if lcd prices are expected to decrease some more say... during thanksgiving or christmas? That's when I'll most likely purchase the LCD I've been longing for 🙂

Will a deal like this ever happen again?

No, this is an one shot deal. OTOH, I am sure you can get the same LCD plane for less in the future.

second.

Four years ago, $1400 for a 17" LCD.
Spring 2003, FP1800 18" LCD only $380 (I got two last time)
This time, FP1901 only $432 I got one again.

Either the same money bigger size LCD or the same size less money. Thing goes.

LCD will be cheaper than CRT someday because almost all its costs are less than CRT, such as manufacturing and shipping.

The only problem is yield. It's not very high for the big size LCD.

This was the problem for CRT too when it was in early 80s. Once the technology is mature, and the yield problem is solved. LCD price will go down quickly.

got mine, 19, looks good in windows and such, but some ghosting with cs and bf1942.... Its aight though, I'll probably just switch it out with gf's 18incher.

Sorry to hear about the ghosting, I chose 1800FP after reading 1901FP comments in other threads indicating ghosting.

i both love u guys and hate u guys, i was just generally in the market for an lcd monitor, my monitor just takein up soo much room, its an older crt, good stuff though, but its a 17in and now i bet 19" take up less room.
i was thinkin about it with the 10% and the 20% but said no, highest i'd go was 350 for a new screen since i figured i payed some 250+shipping for a 17 crt.

and then boom i wake up go to work come back and theres a 40 buck off coupon, needless to say a 1800fp is being shipped to my door, me being out 366,

u guys suck 😛

now i hope my other outstanding 130 bucks in other rebates come in

Nope, I prefer the slim silvery bezel of the 1900/1901.

Ross is the *hit,We must listen...*!*Props to Ya Ross......... I,ve had some :beer:s tonight....so Cheers*!*

Got my 1901FP today, Dell did a good job getting it out really fast, since I ordered only 2 days ago. I tested out Die Another Day DVD real quick and I can notice some ghosting but it's definitely acceptable to me. I'm really going to enjoy the monitor, hope everyone else is getting theirs quick too!

Locked at 1600x1200 means that the 2000FP will only display at its native resolution of 1600x1200. You probably want to run it at its native resolution anyway since anything over will only give you a portion of the screen and anything under makes the screen look dull.
