Sh!t. I just called them and they said that my order didn't go through. They said the price now would be $1501 w/o Palm, but before it was $1426 w/ Palm.
Is there anything I can do to get the same price as when I ordered it?

Did they say why your order won't go through for the original price?
Guess I need to check Hot Deals more often, I missed out on this one.
I've seen the current deals at Dell, sounds like they're good for a basic notebook, but I'm looking for a system to take to LAN's. I'd like 1Ghz, 15" XGA or UXGA, GF2Go or Radeon, 56k-10/100, and DVD. Other than that, specs don't matter much. I'm guessing I should wait for a better deal on a gaming notebook?
Hey ROSSMAN,
I ordered it on 4/17, the last day. My order Acknowledgement shows the free Palm and the price of $1426.
They said that the order didn't go through because they didn't place it. They gave me the runaround saying that online orders were sent to someone else and that person didn't place it.
Triggerhappy007 - It sounds like you did nothing wrong, they should honor the original price quoted to you and sent via your e-mail order confirmation. I would call them back and escalate this up the ladder, first speak with a supervisor/team lead, then a manager, etc. until they correct their error.
Don't let them make you pay more and not get the Palm.
I ordered on the 16th and must have gotten in before the Radeons went OOS. I got the laptop yesterday and am typing this on it now. The UXGA screen is sharp as a tack. My Optiquest at work and flat Hitachi at home look like crap now. They always seemed fine but when I have this lappy sitting next to them they look blurry as hell. LOL At 1600 x 1400 you can fit lots of stuff on the screen, and for surfing it is awesome. The other great thing is you can run games at 800 x 600 full screen and not lose anything or have artifacts. I haven't gamed yet but will be installing Nascar 2002 on it soon. That game grinds lots of systems to a halt. DVD's look awesome and the little speakers are respectable although tinny. The speakers on a friends HP are crap compared to these however. I am running large icons and font so things aren't so small. I am glad I got a UXGA screen. No dead pixels on this one either. The brightness is incredible and adjustable in the BIOS as well as the Radeon properties. I actually had to turn it down in the BIOS. Left the Radeon at default. Overall I am very happy with it. It doesn't really seem that heavy to me, but it is not an ultra portable of course. If you want a desktop replacement you will absolutely NOT find a better lappy for the money. The performance of the Dells is supposed to be amoung the best as well. I recommend it.
Anybody who can track the rebate information yet? It has been more than one month now and still nothing for me. Is it just me or anybody else in the same situation?
My rebate doesn't show up on RebateStatus.com either. I just sent them an email trying to find out whats going on. I sent my rebate in on 4/25.
Now I don't expect to receive a rebate in 4 weeks, but they should have at least received it by now.
