I think this deal has changed. $150 rebate now, no instant savings, and no free upgrades on 30->60HD or optical drives. Unless I'm doing something wrong today.

I have ordered Dell before and found that they are usually way ahead of time as far as when I get the order in comparison to when they say I will.

Has anyone gotten theirs yet? And how long did it take? I know it depends on my config, but you know just a bit curious here...

CIAO!

I didn't get mine yet ..
Hey just curious .. does WinXp home come activated on the PC !? because I am doing a clean install using my own hard drive and XP Pro when I get it, also is it going to recognize all the component automatically !? what does that do to the warranty !?

I just got back from a short out of town trip (returned night, mar 29, sat). i ordered my dim 4550 on tuesday morn (25th mar) and then left town as it said my projected shipping date would be mar 31. well there was a ups note on my door saying they had tried to deliver my computer twice already. i logged onto dell website and it said my computer was shipped on the 25th (same day i ordered it). i live just about 25 miles south of austin and ups tried to deliver it thursday and friday i guess. if they would of told me it would be so fast i would of stayed in town a few days.

3dmark2001se is a synthetic benchmark that tests your video card and the rest of your system... the 13k was the score.

Catalist drivers are used by ati just like detonator drivers are used for nvidia.

Nice PC for the money.. but I am kind of disapointed that it would not fit an ATX mobo for future upgrades ! only micro ATX would fit !

Anyone have more info about this? I just got an email from a Dell employee. It's in bold blue italic text, which made me suspect some kind of fake or scam, but the headers trace back to Dell so apparently it is real. Here's the email below. I replaced my name with "YOUR NAME". I never realized Dell had any restrictions on where you can order from... never once have I seen on Dell's site "you need to go to the Home section if this is for personal use" or anything like that.

And yes I KNOW this isn't a hot deal. But it directly applies to numerous other similar hot deals in this particular forum and is important information for many people on here.

_______________

Thank you for your online order!
You have placed your order in the Dell's Small Business Division and stated that your company name is (YOUR NAME). I am not able to verify that (YOUR NAME) is a valid company. You will need to provide the end users and the end use of these systems before we are able to continue with this order. You have one week to respond to this email or your order will be canceled.

If you would like one of our online representatives to assist you please contact them at the number below. It will route you to one of the online sales representatives without pressing any extensions.

Thank you so much for your time and patience in this matter.
