I'm getting a replacement for mine. First, I have a clump of stuck dark pixels in dead center of screen... probably like 2-3 pixels.. I have 2 small dark stuck pixels that align vertically on the right. Third, the lower left corner is darker red color than the rest of monitor. adjusting the angle didn't help much, as the color variances just shifted..

I wasn't going to take it back, but then, my g/friend told me I should.. considering this thing just popped up oneday on my desk without her permission, I should probably do as she says.

Can someone post what exactly comes with the monitor cable/etc wise? Does it come with a DVI to vga adapter?

I just set up my panel. It looks great hooked up to my Ti4400 w/ DVI. I did the monitors toolkit, and I didn't see any dead pixels. I have this running a dual with the Compaq P900 Trinitron I've been using. I'm happy. :)

EDIT: Also I played UT II 2003, and Nascar 2003. No ghosting whatsoever!!! AWESOME!!!

Noticed the same thing. Went to advanced settings in "appearance" & changed menu text, message box text, and whatever else I could find from tahoma 8pt. to Arial 9pt text. That seems to have fixed it in most places. Very nice monitor.

You guys should run this at it's native resolution: 1280x1024@60hz
if the font is too small change it to 120dpi from 96dpi.
make sure you have the latest bios and latest drivers on your video card and mobo.
I hook it up to my Matrox G550 dual display through DVI and the text looked really fuzzy, so I uninstalled the drivers with their unistall utility, checked that I have the latest bios, installed the new drivers .. booom! all is crisp clear ..! tried a DVD .. this monitor have just excllent picture and realistic colors ! my old CRT will be used to watch TV with my WinTV GO and my new baby will be for surfing the web.
Don't blame the monitor .. always checked your video card website for drivers, and their forum support.

Hey guys, I'm wondering what I can do.
I'm trying to set it at the native resolution, but 1280X1024@60Hz is not listed when I choose the "List all modes" under the display adapter configuration page.
Not sure what I can do. The monitor seems to be stuck at 512X384 or something like that. and when I change the resolution, it just pans around. Oh and what is FPD, do I need to disable that?
I am running an ATI 9700 and running it through the DVI port with a sony 21" Trinitron on the vga port. OS is XP Pro and I'm using the latest catalyst 3.1 drivers. Anyone know what's going on? Help!

hmm, about the exact same set up as mine...just switch the 9700 to a ti4600 and its exact.

not sure what FPD is.

I'm not sure what the display adapter config page is either....why not just go to the display properties and change it there?

Got the replacement. THAT WAS FAST - next day service. The new one has no bad/stuck pixels, but the color uniformity is still the same. Unless, by some weird coincidence, I received two lcd's with the exact same problem (and same location within the monitor), I think this is a global problem shared by all the 1800fp lcd's. Basically, the reddish color temperature shifts from lower left to upper right and tilting the monitor with a white page. My friend couldn't tell until I clearly pointed it out to her. But, in general, I'm not bothered by it and the replacement is better! Thanks dell!

For some reason the lcd still seems to ghost a little, or seem sluggish in CS. Im running DVI on an AIW 8500 128, with the drivers from the cd installed. Also, does anyone know how to set the refresh rate to 75? Or is DVI limited to 60? Ive tried to manually change it to 75, and higher, but it seems to have no effect on the monitor ( checking from the built in osd ).

It states on the Dell Support webpage for the 1800fp that 1280x1024 @75hz is strictly for analog only. Furthermore, for both the 1800fp LCD's I've tried, 1280x1024 @75hz is not as crisp/sharp as 1280x1024 @60hz - maybe there is something more to what was printed in 5 languages in 64pt font on the protective shipping cover. It says use 1280x1024@60hz for optimal.

Hahah - that's what I don't get. The protective covering on the screen tells you what resolution to run it at, and so does the manual. Can you people not read?!?!?!!?

Well, I've got two of my three displays in possession. The UPS tracking numbers state that all three have been delivered (had them shipped to work). The third unit has a different signature than the rest. Maybe it's just held up in the mail room.

I set up one unit on my wife's PC at home. Very, very nice (no dead pixels, as far as I could tell!). I hope she likes it, because she still doesn't know anything about this deal and my purchase ... yet.

Remember the Rescheduled Delivery - March 14th, which then went back to Scheduled Delivery - March 13th?

My package is still sitting 1 day away from me. I called UPS, and they said that the scheduled date is wrong, it will be here tomorrow. :(
